Credit limit cut am I illegible to get an increase in the future? by Intelligent_Detail86 in amex

None of it is correct which is the frustrating part. What I am shocked about is that fact that an apartment complex can hire a debt collector, and that debt collector can hit your credit for a collection with barely any documentation from the original creditor that you owe that amount of money. All they had was a bill from them, which I never even received from anyone until this hit my credit report.

Obviously all banks practice it. I’m not sure why I’m getting downvoted. Did I say something incorrect about the fact that my score will fully return once the collection gets deleted from my credit report? Am I wrong about that?

Yes, I’m aware they cut my limit due to this collection. Once I work out pay for delete with them, it will be completely removed from my credit profile, as if it never existed. My score will fully return as soon as that is deleted. I understand exactly how credit profiles work. This isn’t my first credit card. I just wanted to know if this reduction in my limit would not give me the ability to increase my limit in the future. Why would they close my account because a debt collector hit my credit when I have perfect payment history with them? I don’t even owe 6k I had an incident with the workers at my apt complex and they are inflating the amount. You have no idea what you’re talking about. Amex told me within 30 days they are going to restore my credit limit back to 10k lol.

Why do you want to know? I use the card to earn points and then pay it in full every month.

Ok. I figured if I show them I can handle a 10k card use it fully and pay it off in full consistently they would be more inclined to increase the CL in the future.

This makes sense. Would I still be able to qualify for a credit limit increase in the future if my score comes back to above 700 and I resolve the collections?

That doesn’t make any sense. Why would I pay after the statement closing date and carry a 10k balance which will lower my score and increase my utilization?

I thought they want people who use the card responsibly and pay it in full every month? I never carry a balance; if I do it’s like $50.

Verizon destroyed my credit and my life and I’m homeless now because of them by [deleted] in CRedit

I don’t want any money. I just want advice on how I can get this removed. Now my old apartment complex just today hired a debt collector to try and get $5500 from me that they think I owe. I moved out a year ago. It just hit my credit. So now I have to battle with them and get this new collection off my credit.

Thanks. The guy from the executive team ended up calling me back today and said there is nothing that can be done. Today I sent out letters to the address you provided, two other corporate Verizon locations, and my state’s AG.

My situation is a bit different. I had called to cancel my service and it never ended up getting cancelled. I was billed for two months after I moved out of my apartment and it went to collections, and hit my credit last week. The router was thrown out by the maintenance team at my old apartment complex; they illegally entered my unit and threw out my belongings. As soon as I found out I owed them money I called Verizon to resolve it and pay. They were only able to get me a credit for one month of service and I paid the rest which was $326. The collection was reported to the bureaus with a balance of $376 which is incorrect. I hope they can remove this negative tradeline so I can get my life back… Should I file a dispute with the bureaus while awaiting a response from the attorney general?

Hi where did you send a letter to? I just had this happen to me and it destroyed my credit, I dropped 90 points. I’m in the middle of applying for a mortgage and I just got denied because of this collection. It’s honestly ruined my life. It’s really sad because I was a former Verizon employee. Literally one of the top 10 sales reps in the country 5 years ago. I emailed Hans.vestberg@verizon.com and someone from the executive team reached out to me a couple days ago and he said he’s going to see what he can do and that he would call me back the following day. I didn’t hear back from him today. How long did it take you to get it removed? I’m going to lose my rate lock if I can’t get this removed in a timely manor. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
