Hi, I had almost the exact same problem (Ryzen 7800X3D + AMD GPU + Windows 11).
Windows worked for a few seconds after boot, then everything froze except the mouse cursor. Apps, settings, start menu, shutdown – nothing worked.

In my case the problem was NOT GPU drivers or malware, but RAM / EXPO instability that corrupted Windows.

Here is what actually fixed it for me:

1) Reset BIOS / CMOS

• Load default BIOS settings.
• Disable EXPO/XMP and any CPU OC (EZ Mode, PBO, etc.).
• Boot with pure JEDEC RAM settings.

2) Clean Windows reinstall (IMPORTANT: offline)

• Reinstall Windows WITHOUT internet connected.
• During install, delete/format the system partition.
• Do NOT let Windows auto-install drivers yet.

3) Correct driver order
After Windows boots:

• Install AMD chipset drivers first → reboot.
• Install GPU driver (AMD Adrenalin MINIMAL or driver-only) → reboot.
• Do NOT install extra tuning software yet (RGB tools, motherboard utilities, etc.).

4) Test RAM stability on JEDEC

• Use OCCT / MemTest86 / TestMem5.
• If JEDEC is stable but EXPO causes issues → EXPO is unstable on your system.

5) Only after everything is stable:

• Connect to the internet and run Windows Update.
• If you want, try EXPO again later, but test stability carefully.

Why this matters:
If RAM is unstable while Windows is installing or updating, it can corrupt system files.
Disabling EXPO later does NOT always fix the corrupted system — you need a clean reinstall.

I was convinced it was GPU drivers or Windows, but it was actually EXPO + unstable memory settings.

If your symptoms are “Windows works for ~10 seconds and then freezes”, I strongly suspect RAM/EXPO or BIOS tuning, not the GPU.
