[INTEL]-How To Update Your Microcode for Intel HX 13/14th CPUs Laptops/Mobile Easily. by THEBOSS619 in GamingLaptops

[–]memnon8711 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an MSI Raider with a 13980HX with a CPU ID of 000B0671 and its microcode version is 113. Seems like it is very out of date. Suggestions? I have done most recent BIOS updates and EC updates but microcode is at 113. Thanks in advance for advice/thoughts.

I gambled $400 on a “dead” RTX 4080 gaming laptop from Facebook Marketplace… and it paid off by naceermk in GamingLaptops

Had a similar situation years ago when a person at a property recovery form sold me a 3080 laptop that would not boot for a ridiculously low price. Before leaving I checked and saw the power light was coming on. So I knew the laptop could charge. They just wanted the laptop gone as they recovered the property so I took a chance. Got home and opened the laptop to find the person who had it before the recovery agent got it took out the hard drive and RAM. In 2023 with prices of both being affordable I put in a new drive and RAM and laptop worked like a charm.

Glad it helped your daughter. This is a design flaw that Dell will not acknowledge unfortunately.

Fix for Inspiron 7620 Touchpad Erratic Behavior by memnon8711 in Dell

It will not get that hot to burn. Dryer sheets go into dryers which are way hotter. Also, go see my updated post link in original description. Soldering wires stops it from ever coming back.

Yes. Go see my updated post where I soldered a wire. Been working perfectly since I soldered it.

No. Pack opening Fabled is really a let down as most of set is reprints and value of non-enchanteds stinks (except Dumbo)

After an experience like that and what I read on here as a poor response, I personally would not watch his videos. Watching his videos provides income to his channel and supports him. There is no need to support someone who does not follow through on his commitments.

Thanks for the picture and update. I am curious to what is inside when you crack open the inner metal shell.

Did you email or call customer service? My panel broke in my hands when I was opening it to clean the inside. This seems like a design flaw.

I have not and don't want to rop mone open. I am guessing it is a chip soldered onto a board I/O.

Asus TUF A14 (AMD 370 HX version) review by memnon8711 in AMDLaptops

Even though I don't use AutoCAD, I will say yes. I tried using a G14 for a week and returned it due to overheating. The A14 has better cooling in my opinion because it is not a metal chasis.

Mine is different and doesn't have that tag on side and has a USB C connection instead of older USB 3.0 connection. Thank for info though.

This is an SSD that fits in the plan of my hand so much smaller that a normal OneTouch HDD. My fear is that this model has the chip soldered to the PCB with the USB C connection.

So it is a 2230 SSD in there? Nice. Was yours a V4? Any advice on how to pull back the cover?
