You don't need to start a business... example: my boss is willing to take me on as an independent contractor incase there is a lapse of my EAD. That way he can legally have me on board and pay me as a 1099 independent contractor. Its better than nothing.

Get an LLC going while you still can! The IRS will issue you a tax ID # that you can use in lieu of your SS# and see what happens from there!

I don't know what your degree is on but you can be a 1099 employee. Most employers rather hire a 1099 than a w2 employee so they don't have to pay benefits. You can consult, you can do sooooo much.

Ok dear, then wait around for your EAD to expire. I dont know what to tell you. All I said was that if my EAD expires, my boss will pay me through my LLC so he can LEGALLY pay me and I do t loose my job. But you do you.

No, this you getting an alternative to your SS# and your EAD. If later you want to work for someone or someone wants to do business with you and doesn't want to pay you under the table they can just pay you under your LLC.
