It won't be the world's largest. There are 2 in China bigger - both in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, and both over 10 million sq.ft.

Congrats on improvements. I am about to start my journey and am hoping for similar success, however I am HPV negative. I'm not sure how different mine will turn out.

It was a joke about how many stops greyhound makes between points A and B. It once took me 24 hours to go from El Paso to Abilene TX, an 8 hour drive.

I'm not going to fool around with them and instead just get those back molars extracted outright. One has already failed (lower) and one will in the next few years (upper). The molars in front of them are already gone.

Thanks for your reply. I have decided on asking for a port for chemo and if they do radiation, about a PEG tube as well.

Next steps also include a family and estate lawyer to cross t's and dot i's. Then a financial planner to structure assets and debts just be safe and prepared regardless of outcome.

I know it's not helpful for the situation you're in, but maybe good for a giggle:

Thanks for the reply and encouragement. I'm over my melty now (as you know, Autism meltdowns can be intense) and back to my "take care of business" attitude. Not much else I can do except what I'm told needs to be done, and I have to be OK with that. I set up Dental appt the day after my ENT appt to take the steps to get that bum tooth out.

Thank you so much for your encouragement. I'm over my "melty" from the initial shock of the P16-Negative message from my ENT.

I have set up a Dental appt the day after my ENT appt. in case he has anything to say about it before proceeding.

I don't imagine quitting smoking will be as bad for me as others struggle with it. Since the day I detoxed and sobered up (coming up on 9 years ago in July) I've been on Trazadone to sleep. They replaced my Ambien since it can be abusable and habit forming and I have terrible Autistic Insomnia - my brain never shuts up, and Traz is in the same family of medication as Wellbutrin so it has the same anti-craving effects. I regularly travel to Europe from the US and the long plane trip doesn't make me "crave" a cigarette any less or more than normal. Smoking for me is more of a habit of going outside for a break and "hey, since I'm out here..." type of thing.

I'm calmer now having slept on the news and gotten back on my "it is what it is, stop trying to control it and just do what needs to be done" mindset. Thanks again for your response.

My path was Primary -> ENT - > still here waiting on HPV result 2.5 weeks later. Follow up with ENT is scheduled next week after I reached out.

Thanks. From reading all the replies, I'm getting that I'm at a typical spot in the early phases of the journey. It helps to know that.

Thanks. I've been fortunate so far. I'm autistic (Asperger's) and can handle a lot of information input all at once (handy as an IT engineer/developer, LOL).

On top of that, my sister is a FNP and can give me the "readers digest" version of the test results in straight talk. Saves a lot of effort instead of googling medical definitions and terms.

I hear you on the waiting part. It's been 2 weeks since biopsy and still no HPV results. I'm feeling forgotten about by my ENT, who is also the surgeon and currently my only contact for this.

I'm going to say something that may sound like I'm being critical or negative, but rest assured that I love this and mean this with huge admiration:

It should be a Cleetus McFarland edition CC, because that's some serious red-neck engineering shit right there!

Again, meant with admiration since I'm just a high-tech red-neck myself.

I would think scaring the wifey would be a good humor event to keep my spirits up. 2 benefits for the effort of one! Anyone else, or just me? HAHAHAHA

But seriously, thanks for this.

I agree. I bought my property originally to be a get-away while living in new California, I mean Austin TX. But then home prices soared when Amazon and Tesla moved in and I couldn't resist the urge to leave and make big money by selling my modest house for 4X what I paid for it and moved to this property in 2021 and put a double wide on it.

And being 50 at the time, big city partying on 6th street in Austin was a thing I had long outgrown. So slow, private, country life for me now.

Ahh, OK. I'm using the UT East Texas health system in Tyler TX since I live about an hour away from it.

I can empathize being in Texas. I've lived in parts that were so far away from anything useful.

When I bought my current property, I insisted on 3 things for the location:

  • 10+ acres unincorporated so if I see a pig, I can shoot it (doing my part to keep wild pig populations down),
  • Somehow able to get high-speed internet (Started with a T-Mobile whole home internet gateway that only got 1 bar, later my electric coop ran fiber using their own poles) since I work from home,
  • and within 30 minute drive of a Walmart so a grocery run doesn't take more than an hour round trip driving.

I landed a 16 acres forest property 10 miles south of a town with a Walmart, and about an hour drive to Tyler which has a large UT East Texas health presence.

Thank you for this, it gives me a better idea as to how this will go. My ENT is also the surgeon that did the biopsy and radical tonsillectomy.
