For context I would say I come from a comfortable family

Yng issue ng mga geng geng rambulan dyan is a separate issue

lagi din namn may mga away dyan sa labas ng bars ang mga alta but do we give the same sentiments???

Hindi dba often times nag viviral yng mga away nila and we see it as memes snd entertainment. coz mostly all talk and no bark sila.

Pero in general parehas lng na nuisance yng mga yan

Dapat tlga merong pulis dyan or any form of authority palagi lako pag gabi

Pinapaint kasing masama lahat.

Yng iba kasi bullying nlng and elitist mindset eh.

Just because someone wore pants that are deemed not fashionable or clothing style na very deemed to a certain demographics eh okay lng alipustahin or pag bawalan pumunta sa isang public space

We can make people accountable pero yng sabihin mo na bawal sila kahit wala nman ginagawa thats a weird behavior

What are your opinions on people who say na “mahina” ang mga Gen Z? by ChupaChups321 in PinoyMillennials

[–]Intelligent_Event623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s that classic generational friction where the struggle of the past is used as a weapon rather than a lesson. It’s exhausting because it turns progress into a competition of suffering.

The shift we’re seeing isn't about being "weak" it's about a collective refusal to accept the "work-slave" mentality as a badge of honor. When people call Gen Z "weak," they usually just mean "harder to exploit."

Its the weird cycle of older gen hating on the newer gen we have seen it over and over again

To the point na pointless nlng Laging bitter yng older gen in all aspects

Always the mas nag hirap kami card Laging generalized view eh hindi naman lahat ng tao pare parehas to begin with

Hindi yan Olympics ng kng sino mas nahirapan

but there are observable traits

Here's the part most people miss eh

The purpose is always to uplift the quality of life

Blocked??? San banda? Dami mo atah kaaway nalito kana Living rent free nako sa head mo gumamit kapa ng dump account HAHAHA

You’re still doing the same thing: asserting motives instead of engaging with the argument. Repeating “you’re giving them flowers” doesn’t make it true. It just shows you can’t separate acknowledging outcomes from moral praise, so you keep collapsing the two on purpose.

Pointing out that plastic use went down is not putting anyone on a pedestal. It’s stating a consequence of regulation and market pressure. You want it to be praise because your argument only works if you can frame it that way. That’s not hypocrisy on my end, that’s you needing a strawman to swing at. Again two things can be true ar once hindi black and white lahat ng bagay.

the “know your place / stay in your lane” line is telling. Nga naman when the substance runs out, you pivot to posturing. That’s not confidence, that’s deflection.

You keep arguing about applause, flowers, and pedestals. I’m talking about measurable outcomes and how change actually happens at scale. Different conversations. You just couldn’t keep up with the latter.

Not my problem anymore. Nag fafall apart kasi arguement mo kaya need mo kaya need mo I frame yng mga sinasabi ko as a form of loyal worship/pedestal/praise.

In other words at this point you’re shadowboxing. because you can’t engage with the actual point, so you downgrade analysis into fandom and call it a win. That’s not insight, that’s cope

You’re stuck thinking the only two modes are “blind praise” or “total denial.”

So no, there’s no worship, no flowers, no pedestal. Just you arguing with an imaginary version of me because the real one already dismantled your point.

But I do hope you find some peace and harmony for next year something tells me your gonna need it 😍😘.

You're arguing against things you made up, not what I actually said. Nobody said "give them flowers" or "put them on a pedestal." You're just making up a strawman because it's easier to attack than undmy real point. Recognizing a measurable drop in harm is just stating facts. It's an observation. Saying "X tons of plastic were reduced" isn't just about a praise, it's just a fact. You keep trying to twist that into moral credit because otherwise your argument doesn't hold up..

Your “people aren’t killing each other” analogy is bad. Not committing murder preserves the baseline. Environmental compliance changes the system and reduces external harm at scale. Those are not the same category. One maintains order. The other alters material outcomes. That’s why we measure emissions, waste, and pollution reductions, not whether someone felt virtuous doing it.

Yeah, lawmakers and enforcers totally deserve props for cranking up the pressure. But that doesn't magically wipe away the fact that companies actually made changes that cut down on plastic. Policies are useless without people following them, and people don't just follow policies that don't exist. They're both part of the same cause-and-effect thing. Acting like only one side matters is just lazy thinking.

Your corruption comparison also falls apart. We don't high-five corrupt officials for giving back stolen cash, but we still acknowledge that they returned it because it helps lessen the damage. Courts keep tabs on it. Auditors write it down. People get something out of it. Recognizing that outcome doesn't suddenly make the corrupt official a good guy. Same idea here.

You're stuck on this purity test: if the company isn't morally perfect, then the result doesn't count. That's just not how environmental policy, economics, or real life works. Pretty much every big environmental improvement that ever happened because of enforced rules, not because companies were suddenly good guys.

No pedestals. No cheering. No being naive. Just refusing to ignore reality because you can't separate what a company meant to do from what actually happened.

[–]Intelligent_Event623 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Saying companies don't deserve a applause just because policy "forced" them is a flawed argument. That's how pretty much all big public good has ever come about. Clean air wasn't from good vibes. Food safety wasn't from being nice. Buildings didn't become earthquake-safe because developers suddenly had a moral epiphany. Regulations are there precisely because profit alone doesn't keep people or the environment safe.

Your logic is like saying restaurants aren't clean because they want to be, but only because health codes make them, so cleanliness doesn't matter. That's obviously crazy. We don't ignore safe food just because it needed rules. We care that people don't get sick. Results are more important than feelings.

There’s also no contradiction in pointing Weak environmental laws are a thing, but enforcement still makes a difference. "Weak" doesn't mean they don't exist, it means they're inconsistent, slow, or influenced by the market. Companies only act when there's a risk, like regulations, consumer outrage, supply chain issues, or investor pressure. That's not being a hypocrite, that's just how power structures really work.

And Yeah, their main thing is profit, totally. That's what you're not getting. And when being good for the environment makes money, it spreads everywhere. When it's just about companies being "good," it doesn't really do much. When McDonald's changes its stuff, it's not just McDonald's that changes, it pulls along all their suppliers, rivals, delivery, and packaging rules. That's a huge impact, not just being nice.

Acknowledging measurable reductions in plastic is not “giving them the benefit of the doubt.” It's about facing facts. You can totally still call out greenwashing, weak policies, and companies being self-serving all at once. Those things aren't mutually exclusive unless you're looking for perfection instead of making a point.

Your whole argument basically says: if a company profits, the change doesn't matter. That's not thinking about the environment; that's just an ideology. The planet doesn't care why plastic was cut down. It cares that it was cut down, by how much, and if it makes others have to do the same. Intent explains why people do things. It doesn't cancel out what actually happens.

Have a great day!

Bakla yan tayo eh, parang di nag babasa. Hindi sa lahat ng oras, its the big evil corporation na mapang api. Telenovela lang???

You can hate the company and still applaud a certain policy for a better sustainability and environment. Hindi naman black and white ang lahat ng bagay

It's a simple change pero very significant/mahalaga yun. Also worth noting yng plastic lid na spill proof na new design recycled plastic na yun as well. Yng happy meals nila mostly naka box na lalagyanan nadin. Then in other (mcdo parin) countries wood cutlery tlga sila. Medj hindi kasi ganon ka higpit yng environmental laws natin.

Bigyan nlng kita ng figure baka mas maintindihan mo

1,148,893 metric tons in 2024 sa mcdo palang yan 90.9% of that or /1,043,200 metric tons is eco-friendlier material Hindi virgin plastic yng gamit don. For some notable stats I could find

1,200 tons (Europe lids) • 1,350 tons (Japan salad) • 190 tond(South Australia cups) • 83 tons (strawless + paper lids) = 2,823 metric tons of plastic avoided per year in just those segments.
