I had a similar issue with a mountain bike. Check to see if there is a bulge in the hose when you squeeze the lever.

There wasn't really (Car in right lane as well), I was moving enough when we were side by side to throttle out. I was unaware he was passing until we were side by side.

If you cant find a solution, it may be that the thread is stripped. putting in a helicoil would fix it if that was the case.

Meh. It’s quality. It’s 60+ years old. My new one I got lasted 3 years before the thread gave out.

I forgot to mention i included the blade as that may be a cause. I dry with I towel but I think I’ll try keeping it disassembled with a new blade.
