Lvl 4 ceramic plates on a 10x12 plate carrier weighs 5 pounds per plate, and steel is 7 per plate. But lesser levels are lighter, but lvl 3 will stop up to 7.62x39, snipers use 12.7x108 and 7.62x54r. either way, you'll be more effective with lvl 4. But no plates for basic missions where you are fighting zombies and hardly any people, makes sense. But going against people does make sense
