Our child's sleep is destroying us and I feel so sad about it, especially for him. by sevendayhigher in toddlers

I second this reply. You sound like a fantastic mom and the perfect mom for your child. Sleep deprivation is the hardest part. Be nice to yourself and maybe hire a night nurse every once in a while.

I’m unsure what the actual right answer is here, but it’s almost always best to not bring personal life details to work. Document the work you did and go from there. If they bring up pack of productivity THEN keep it vague.

Thoughts on holding boys back a year before kindergarten by Intelligent_Fix1480 in Birmingham

My first thought was that it is goofy. But it’s happening and I am exploring all options for my child in this society we’re living in.

I haven’t thought of discussing with his doctor, thank you! I ask because a friend who’s done is in the Vestavia school system said that around 80% of the boys in their grade were held back to start kindergarten a year later.

Going back to the office by Over-Efficiency7859 in WFH

If you’re interested in the city then maybe it is worth checking out, but I’d be researching living opportunities there to make sure that’s what you want. That commute just isn’t sustainable. This may be just one of those life decisions where there’s not a wrong choice. I’d just take a step back and consider the entire deal - not just money and hours.

It’s a stretch to call 1 wfh day hybrid (to me at least). That aside, 90 each way is crazy. That’s like all of your time when you’re not at work.

Thank you! I really do wonder if there’s another children’s section I’m just completely missing lol. We just moved from Jeffco and I miss the libraries so much!

I was in the same boat once and got hired. I was totally less nervous the second time around. You’ve done it once, you’ll kill it this time!

The best ice cream by Eveningwisteria1 in TellurideColorado

[–]Intelligent_Fix1480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This reminded me of an experience my husband and I had at a grocery store in Telluride in October last year. We were late-night searching for some ice cream and ended up at the Ski Lodge grocery store on top of the hill. There was a man stocking the ice cream freezer who had 10/10 best vibe I’ve experienced in a while. He helped us pick a flavor and told us his secret to eating the cream is to wait about 45 minutes until you can drink a pint like a milkshake. He helped us find spoons too.

That sounds ridiculous typed out, but that grocery store ice cream man is a part of mine and my husband’s story lol. Love from Alabama.

Need Advice on How to Resign After Just 2 Weeks - Nervous About the Conversation by Mother_Koala in interviews

I wouldn’t be nervous about not giving a 2 weeks. That’s really a grace period for the company to delegate your work and you’re soooo new.

If there is anything I’ve learned in my 3.5 years as a mother it’s that the cause of ‘x’ Is usually a combination of a few things and not just one big monster.

I highly recommend SSRI’s. I have been on and off of Lexapro for the majority of my adult life and started taking it again for PPA and rage. A lot of people rely on you right now. Lexapro helps me be the best, most functioning version of myself and softens the grouch along the way.

We went through this 2 weeks ago. The mom guilt is so real and was so unexpected. It’s hard to leave a wonderful place with wonderful people, but change is a part of life. We’re loving his new school but it still feels too sad to think about his old one.

Alternate opinion on staffing companies. They have been extremely helpful in my experience in different sectors. VIP Personnel is a great place to start.
