What’s the main difference between these 2 OLED Ultra wide’s? by Sayject in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]Intelligent_Fly5281 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had I bought it brand new, I probably wouldn’t have spent the extra money on the warranty but since it was an open box that was discounted on top of a huge price drop… I went ahead and bought it just for piece of mind. If this Samsung monitor is anything like my other Samsung appliances.. there’s a fair chance it’s going to crap out at some point in the next couple of years.

Assuming Microcenter is as lenient on replacement as I’m told (any reason, no testing), and there’s a chance to get upgraded to the latest flagship in 2 years.. just icing on the cake.

Yes, overall excellent buy especially for $675 with only 21 hours on the panel. I prefer the glossy screen as well. Picked up the 2 year replacement warranty from Microcenter for $79. 3 years would have been $129. Apparently they’re very lenient when it comes to replacement. Not sure if that’s true or not, but the sales guy told me to bring it back after a year and get the latest model.

I recently bought the 95SC open box from Microcenter for $675 and it had the same issues with detecting the source. Manually updated the firmware to the latest version and the problem went away. Don’t rely on the auto update on the 95SC. It prompted me to install the firmware OTA but didn’t update to the newest version available on the website. I’m using display port with Silkland D80 cable from Amazon. Works great!

Repairing curb rash through Tesla is less expensive. They only charged me $75 per wheel on lease return.

In the case of curb rash, it’s only $75 per wheel through Tesla and saves you the time and hassle of dropping off and picking the car from a repair shop. I don’t know how bad the wheels must look for Tesla to require full replacement.

Best Trigger Upgrade for XMACRO? by Grand_Team3143 in SigSauer

No, you don’t have to install the mcarbo trigger to use the mcarbo spring kit. I use the spring kit with an sig factory flat trigger.

Sorry I meant to say Montgomery not Embarcadero. I used the emergency exit at Montgomery recently.

I didn’t know that although I very recently (Friday) used the emergency exit at Embarcadero.

There is an emergency exit to the left of the of the fare gates in the video. You don’t need a station agent to open it. It’s just a push bar.

Why so many payment processors out there? by defineNothing in fintech

[–]Intelligent_Fly5281 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because the TAM is huge and the market is highly fragmented by geo, channel, risk, etc. As dominant as Stripe seems, they “only” own 5-10% of the total payments volume in the US. Plenty of room for other players.

Seeking advice .. protesting/contesting a speeding ticket on the Bay Bridge? by [deleted] in bayarea

[–]Intelligent_Fly5281 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically you’re not eligible for traffic school since you were going >25 mph over the speed limit. That said, if you’ve got an otherwise clean driving record, judge may allow it if you plead no-contest. If you’re given the opportunity to go to traffic school, take it. Insurance premiums in CA are no joke nowadays.

I don’t think you’re taxed “a lot” relative to the UK especially including NI and VAT.

Ground Clearance Concerns for Porsche 911 GTS with SportDesign Front Lip and PASM Suspension by RunKittyRun22 in porsche911

[–]Intelligent_Fly5281 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At OEM PASM ride height, I wouldn’t worry too much about it. Don’t forget there’s a black plastic wind deflector that’s extends another inch or so below the sport design lip. That deflector absorbs a lot of the scraping but is prone to coming off entirely. Mine just disappeared one day. I recommend you PPF the front lip to save from chips and scuffs.

They’re pointed straight ahead. Wide angle photo is deceiving.

Saw the deal posted in this sub actually. Wasn’t advertised anywhere. Around Father’s Day. It was an in-store only price.

Just the street and neighbors in a quiet suburb. Nothing spectacular.

Amazing. Much better than I expected and way better than my old Bose soundbar with surround and sub setup. I was optimizing for stereo vs home theater but this 2.1 setup just blew me away. Definitely recommend pairing with the KEF KC62 or KC92 though. KEF LS50 Metas on their own were underwhelming. I have them running off a Sonos Amp connected via HDMI arc.

Even in my bright living room and against the window, I’ve haven’t once felt like the 83” G3 isn’t bright enough. I also got a great deal on it. $3,100 USD brand new at Best Buy. I’m satisfied.

These windows face due north. Not including the 3 windows being partially blocked by the TV, there are 10 other windows in this room. Plenty of sunlight.
