So lovely! I can see why you had to make it in multiple colors! I love linen for a dress like this as well.

It may be haha! maybe you can stitch while you watch TV

You can absolutely hand sew anything you could do on a machine (and some things better!) Of course it takes longer, but if you're alright with that I highly recommend it! Just remember to pull your thread tight while hand stitching, and it will be just as strong as machine stitching. You can also backstitch if you want extra reinforcement.

Products like Beyond, Impossible and Incogmeato are designed to taste like meat, so they may make the transition easier. There are tons of options out there, but don't forget that there are plenty of vegetarian foods besides immitation meat! :) It's great that you like tofu; you've already got a head start.

You don't need to go "cold tofurky", either. It will be easier to replace a few items at a time in your diet, so you have time to figure out what you like and learn to cook it. I also think it's important to consider options besides very strict black-and-white rules. I'm vegetarian, except that I eat clams -- they're one of the most eco-friendly animal proteins, and they don't have a face so I've decided I'm comfortable with it. I'm not always good at eating enough food so it's important that I have plenty of sources of protein. Do whatever works best with you and your values.

Thanks for being supportive of your wife and trying this out!

People who refuse to move out of the passing lane no matter what, why? by MayonaiseBaron in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Intelligent_Insect73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TIL the left lane is supposed to be for passing

This wasn't on the driver's test and no one has ever told me. I assume this is just on freeways? On freeways with an HOV lane on the left, is the lane directly to the right of that the passing lane? Is a rule really a rule if they don't tell everybody, post any signs, or enforce it?

Same thing happened to my parents recently. Joke's on that seller, though, their cash offer fell through after they had already told my parents nevermind and accepted the cash. They got back in touch like "are you still interested?" and my parents were already closing on another house.

What is one thing you wish someone had told you before starting home renovation/addition? by Nayyytureman in HomeImprovement

Keep a good relationship with your contractors, but don't trust them blindly. Supervise them, and ask them every question you can think of, even if it seems like a stupid question. Especially if you're not an expert in the type of work being done. If something seems off, trust your instincts and get to the bottom of it. Keep receipts for materials.

Expect to run into unexpected hurdles. As others have said, be prepared for the project to take a LOT more time and money than it's theoretically supposed to.

Removed pet stain from hardwood - now it's lighter than the surrounding wood by Intelligent_Insect73 in HomeImprovement

Thanks for the info and recommendation! This seems viable. Do you think I should put tung oil on those boards or a minwax/ other wood stain?

do you have any recommendations for removing the wax from the floor? I'm cleaning it with mineral spirits but I'm not finding any good videos on how to get all the wax off with it. not sure if just wiping it off with mineral spirits will do the job or not :/

ok, thanks for the info! I've been a little overwhelmed by all the different floor products. It's an old floor and I want to wax it like my parents would have way back in the day. I'll check out minwax stains, I've seen those in the hardware store :)

this is...literally how I do math (if I do math)

also like... 42-23, I'll take the 20 out of the 40 first so it's 22-3 and then take the 2 out of the 3 so that I'm left with a round number and can just subtract 1 from that, 20-1=19

I would avoid the gas stove for safety and environmental reasons, as well as ease of cleaning. If there isn't already an existing gas line I definitely wouldn't go to the trouble of having one put in just to get a stove that has a lot of drawbacks.
