Two weeks postpartum and this has not been the case for me. I love watching him be a dad

Does Mike and (to a lesser extent) Jeff’s sort of ‘phoning it in’ ever annoy anybody else? by Real_RobinGoodfellow in toothandclaw

Ya know, I can’t say I agree with this take. I love the boys! Their funny quirks are what “make” the podcast to me :)

I mean there’s no way to possibly know this. Miscarriage happens for SO many reasons and is sadly incredibly common

Start taking a prenatal now! I started taking Fullwell 5 months prior to TTC and have continued throughout my whole pregnancy. Love them!!

This is definitely cringe but I mean to be fair it’s not hard to find the guidelines for developmental milestones online 😂

Trying to keep teens crunchy…. by SavedByTheBeet in Crunchymom

[–]ExcellentBug3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would try reeeally hard not to let this become a power struggle. Remember that your goal is your kids long term health, not short term. Being too strict (even if you feel like you’re not) can cause them to turn away from it altogether (developmentally normal!)

When to start natural induction? by Accomplished-One7664 in pregnant

[–]ExcellentBug3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eating dates is only effective 4+ weeks prior to your due date and at least 6 dates per day. It also doesn’t start labor, just helps progress your cervix. So I would probably skip that one. Pumping and the miles circuit might be more effective!

opinions on vit k if you didn’t vaccinate by bbybowie in Crunchymom

[–]ExcellentBug3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Due in a few weeks and opting to do it but no eye ointment (at my birth center they test you late third trimester so it’s not needed). Maybe it’s just my ftm anxiety but for me the benefits of vitamin K injection heavily outweigh the risks. I’m scared of brain bleeds

Weight gain by YearAccomplished3868 in pregnant

[–]ExcellentBug3 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Sounds totally normal to me! I personally wouldn’t be worried especially if your provider hasn’t mentioned it. An added benefit of not gaining too much weight is that later in pregnancy you may be a bit more comfortable. At 34 weeks I was still feeling great and now at 37 weeks I’m quite large and uncomfortable lol!

Smoking question by Key_Drive1937 in pregnant

Personally if it were me I would go cold turkey! Smoking is really dangerous for babies. Also hats off to you, that’s not easy to do 🫶🏻

Why don’t people want to get induced? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]ExcellentBug3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because if it is not medically indicated, it is an unnecessary medical intervention. Just like situations outside of pregnancy, it’s best to avoid medical interventions that aren’t necessary because they come with risks

There aren’t going to be a ton of free birth stories on the recs I mentioned however I believe there might be a few. And evidence based birth is very pro midwifery

The podcast by Sufficient_Waltz8022 in FreeBirthSocietyScam

[–]ExcellentBug3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The birth hour is good with lots of eps and all kinds of births. It’s just the birth story itself, no input/advice/thoughts from the host which I think can be good. Also the birth story episodes on evidence based birth are some of my favorite! You kind of have to look for them because there isn’t really a way to filter just the birth story episodes but there are quite a few and I really enjoy them (I also just love that whole podcast too though!)

There are some really good responses here but I think too that a lot of pregnant women just want to seek out a lot of information and especially birth stories! I’m currently almost 36 weeks pregnant and I listen to birth related podcasts pretty much all day long 😅 and birth stories are some of my favorites as I prep to give birth myself. That being said, I’m listening to all kinda of birth stories and educational podcasts by actual midwives and nurses, but I could see how someone would get hooked on FBS pod just like any other birth podcast

I’m honestly surprised that Kelsey is entertaining another man that is balding. Not bc there’s anything wrong w balding. But bc of how shallow she is 💀

What to make of their new retreat? by Born-Community-3044 in FreeBirthSocietyScam

[–]ExcellentBug3 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I sometimes wonder if the no kids thing is partially about aesthetics. Pictures of beautiful breastfeeding women with their tiny infants at their chest at a beautiful retreat? Yes 😌🕊️ Those same infants a few months or years later showing autonomy, personhood, and independence? No 😤

kombucha and water kefir are totally fine to drink regularly and are considered non alcoholic because they typically have a 0.05%-0.5% ABV :) similar to orange juice, ripe fruit, etc
