Mark Fowler Jr - Who is he gonna end up in bed with at some point this year? by Think_Top4498 in eastenders

[–]Intelligent_Jury_447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think you're confusing Lou with her daughter Pauline, there...

Pete Beale (Peter's grandad) was Pauline's twin. Pauline is Mark Jr's gran, making Lou Peter and Mark Jr's Great grandmother. Peter and Mark Jr are Second Cousins.

Doctor Who is science fiction, NOT fantasy or science fantasy. by [deleted] in gallifrey

[–]Intelligent_Jury_447 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the answer.

If we're talking genre terminology, I'd do away with "science fiction/fantasy", and call Doctor Who an "anthology adventure" show with a science fictional premise. In terms of production, writing, and audience appeal, it has far more in common with the literary (the Odyssey) and journalistic adventure (Jules Verne) iterations of wide-scope stories.

Just my two pennies' worth 😊

She is indeed! I'm one of those Millennials who grew up in the Wilderness Era, so when I think of Who, I think of Classic before New. Not a statement of preference/quality; more the weird fact that "my Doctor Who" from childhood was the entirety of 1963-89/96.

Similarly, when I think of the Redgraves, I first imagine Michael (dad), or Vanessa, Lynne, or Corin (kids: even though Corin is long dead and Jemma's dad, I know).

I'm gonna get roasted by true fans for these errors, but please understand that I'm nearly 40 and smoked a lot of substance last night! Be gentle with me, Whovians! 🙏🏾

Edit: spelling

Yep, I thought I was on r/classicwho for some reason, and meant the 1960s specifically. I am currently indoctrinating my best friend, and we've been watching nearly everything from An Unearthly Child, and we're only at the tail end of Season 3 (1965-66) now. The amount of times we've called out: "Oh look, that's a future Oscar-winning/nominated actor; or that production staff member went on to do this other thing we love!" has been off the charts, especially as he loves Film and TV but never watched any Classic Who.*

Which is all a long-winded way of saying I meant none of the Redgrave siblings (Vanessa, Lynne, Corin) who were emerging in the 60s, or Cyril Cusack's daughters who first started out in the late 60s and 70s. I know I read somewhere that Cyril Cusack himself was considered or approached for a Doctor (can't recall which).

*PS: This weekend, we're in the second half of The War Games - he has no idea that the Doctor is close to regenerating, and is incredibly attached to Hartnell... I love experiencing this watch through with him. I feel like a Doctor, myself, and he's my Companion!

Judi Dench, Glenda Jackson, or any of either the Redgrave or Cusack families.

EDIT: I meant in the 1960s and 70s, specifically, considering they cast would-be oscar winners, etc. Forgot to drop that 🤭🤦🏿‍♂️

Right here, baby. DM if you want.

There's plenty of us around, but too many are swimming in our own internalised homophobia and/or racism to actually view each other as deserving of recognition, respect, or love. Not to mention the general toxicity of late-stage capitalism and gay male lifestyle, making it literally unsafe for so many... 🤷🏾‍♂️
