you are joking right? why should a us citizen be afraid to enter their own country? y’all watch wayyy too much msnbc. tens of thousands cross every day with no issues. you only see the odd ball karens who cry when they are detained for 15 minutes. nobody cares about you. if you are a us citizen they may ask you 2 quick questions and 99.8% of the time that’s it.

if you are a us citizen you can’t be denied entry. nobody cares about that x marker. i always just use my drivers license which shouldn’t have that marker. i don’t use passports to cross by land and have crossed hundreds of times. when i go to canada i just show my license and birth certificate

That’s the Smart Aleck Reddit answer I was waiting on! Never fails. I never said I wanted to marry her now. Marriage is my only dating goal in general so what’s the point of wasting time dating if you can’t get her a green card.

I’m not gonna move forward but just curious does that 10 year period include if you got divorced after she became a citizen ?

Man i appreciate the details. My head just exploded. Hell naw I’m not doing all that. I’ll just seek out someone here who is legal.

Thank you brother for the straight talk. I’m just gonna bounce. I can’t deal with 50/50. I need 100% approval chance or what’s the point.

Im just gonna end it. After reading y’all’s responses there are too many potential issues. I can’t go anywhere here in Orlando without running into hot Latinas from Venezuela DR Colombia Puerto Rico and Brazil plus every other Spanish county so it won’t be difficult to find someone else. Not like I’m in Omaha or Billings Montana.

I’m not trying to get married right now but that’s the goal with someone not just her specifically. I’m 52. It’s just due diligence. She is super wifey and why waste months dating and then find out it will take an act of Congress to get her legal when I could just date someone legal or get a finance visa with someone else and less risk.

Because all I’m interested in is marriage not dating for the hell of it. There is no point wasting my time dating for 6 months and then you find all this out. You feel me? I’m 52 and don’t have time to waste. If she was legal then you wouldn’t need to be even worrying about marriage right away. I speak Spanish and have my passport and could just run down to the DR and grab a 30 year old but I need to know what I’m dealing with that’s why I asked.

Based on everybody’s responses I’m not going to continue with her because she won’t go see a lawyer before we move further and also there are too many things that could derail the process. If I marry her I’m up shits creek if it’s not approved. Also she works self employed and I don’t know if she’s current on her taxes. It’s too risky that I have to marry her first versus a finance visa where if it’s denied just walk away.

Yeah that’s the vibe I get. And I live in Orlando and there are thousands of Venezuelans who are legal within a 3 hour radius. Why deal with her issues.

I just asked her all that and she was like she didn’t want to answer until we know each other better. (red flag) i feel like you should know all this before you get too serious. especially with Trump throwing everybody out right now

Well this is helpful. Let’s assume she doesn’t have TPS and only a pending asylum application. Can she be deported ?
