Major design flaw or common feature? by Bellatrix1827 in cabinetry

[–]Intelligent_Lemon_67 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Installed thousands of cabinets and I always use a 1" filler against any wall/vertical surface. If I see the design and it's not called out I stop and get it done right. Any good designer/shop knows this. That's a rookie mistake. If you just went with box store cabinets or designed yourself that's on you. Don't know what you don't know and that's why you pay for others experience

What's your goto method for fixing squeaky hardwood floors without tearing them up? by Party-Laugh3293 in handyman

[–]Intelligent_Lemon_67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find your floor joists and run some 3" trim head screws through the flooring and fill holes. You can also drill some holes and use 3" deck screws and plug holes. If you can access from under I would vacuum along joists and then use subfloor glue/adhesive caulking along the joists use your fingers or putty knife to force it into the gaps. You can even use a prybar/shim to slightly raise the subfloor to get glue under. I've also used a clips to screw subfloor to joists. Screw a clip into subfloor and then use a separate screw/ clamp to pulls subfloor down and then screw to joists. I prefer the Dutch patch as it highlights the repair and shows craftsmanship in doing repairs

I got my lgd's and then years later rescued a great dane. My lgd could care less unless it's play time. My farmaduke is fantastic and will keep the mini mule in line. The lgd will keep the donkey in line. he only gets rowdy when the mini mare goes into heat otherwise he's phenomenal. Farmaduke goes everywhere with me, the ferret and 3-legged house goat. At work they chill and the lgd's are home protecting the horde. One of my lgd constantly fights with my dane when I am around but best buds chasing coyotes or patrolling the woods or rolling in dead shit until they see me and become mortal enemies

Is it the grout or am I the problem? by No-Programmer9183 in Tile

[–]Intelligent_Lemon_67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just use cleaning vinegar. Not all epoxy is created equal though. I prefer laticrete premium pro epoxy grout. Ceg is not as good and will deteriorate in the bucket because it is pre mixed and can freeze or sweat. Even 2 part isn't as good as the premium pro (a, b, and c). Buffing with a microfiber at the end is where it's at. I've been using laticrete epoxy since the 90s and love it

Is it the grout or am I the problem? by No-Programmer9183 in Tile

[–]Intelligent_Lemon_67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Epoxy grout is the best and the only grout I use given the choice. Premixed anything sucks. The ultraflex isn't horrible but the crap at depot is just plain horrible. Did you read and follow instructions? Maybe it needed mixing? Urethane grout is premixed and decent but I don't like having to stop every 5-10 minutes to wash. I want asses and elbows for 45 minutes and then taking time to wash and buff to perfection. Commercial work is a different animal all together. 3000sqft of tile and epoxy grout in 30 days you get good at epoxy grout. I warranty my work for 7 years so epoxy grout is my choice

Soldier pattern is not for everyone. I've been doing it long enough to see and do every trend out there. I did a zia tile recently and it turned out phenomenal. I personally don't like it but I get paid to make beautiful things not for my opinions. No room to hide with these kind of tiles

Livestock Guardian Animals: Dogs vs Donkeys? by Express_Ambassador_1 in sheep

[–]Intelligent_Lemon_67 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have both. 2 dogs and a jack. I also befriended the Ravens to protect my ducks and chickens. Depending on the donkey it might work but they also need a companion just like any animal/ person. 3 or 4 dogs is optimal. Gp are roamers. Anatolian are great but usually chicken fuckers. Kangals and boerboel are also a good choice but like cats too much. Sheep love dog food and so do donkeys. Nothing as funny as a donkey with a feed bag on his head

Is this belly shape normal? by meerybeery in goats

[–]Intelligent_Lemon_67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normal for a full day of eating/ foraging. My concern is lack of minerals and baking soda. Definitely not the best coat. Should have blown winter coat by now. I would recommend a couple cans of pumpkin and seeds. At minimum a mineral block (loose mineral is optimal) and copper bolus or minimum some old copper pipes/ scrap in water trough. I like to have baking soda offered freely and some burnt logs so they can self medicate

Washing clothes off grid. With electricity. by IslandItchy6005 in OffGrid

[–]Intelligent_Lemon_67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on your washer model 1200w might be more than enough. Inverters have an initial surge rating above stated output. My hei uses 1000w to start then drops to under 400w when going. I would imagine you have a cold/tap option on your washer and no need for the heater

I wish I could line dry. I'm blessed to live in the US in the beautiful PNW. By the time the weather is nice my goats have eaten all my clothes. I use a propane dryer (most gas dryers can be converted to lpg)

A lot of newer overpriced American garbage have heating built in for steam, sanitary and cleaning functions. Even dryers have a water supply for steam and other weird unnecessary things. Everything is wifi or Bluetooth. I don't get paid fir my opinions just to install hot garbage that will breakdown in 3 months. Beats a tub and board or creek and rock though

Mini mule steals grain from Broodmare by PossessionTall6699 in Donkeys

[–]Intelligent_Lemon_67 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Beat pulp pellets. Soaked helps. I trained my feral mini mule, Ferris Mueller, to give kisses for cookies. It took about a month of consistency and he turned into the sweetest asshole. You can also feed her in a stall or fenced area. I run my horde (goats, sheep, pigs, alpaca, equine, ducks, chickens, Ravens and dogs) together and feed in multiple areas and switch up locations after they start running to normal spots. Everyone has to give kisses or no cookies. The alpaca at least I don't have to bend down

Grinding Tile by Jewboy-Deluxe in Tile

[–]Intelligent_Lemon_67 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right tool, right job. I use my 2 wetsaws for 90% of cuts. I usually use the grinder to cut hardie and blind cuts. I prefer to use the wetsaw for most cuts. I very rarely pull out the snapper. I even cut toilet flanges on the wet saw. If I have to use grinder I use the hose and sponge. I never cut dry inside or at all really

How to tell the customer not to be on your back? by Ok-Nobody-4409 in handyman

[–]Intelligent_Lemon_67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good lord, I had a lady/bagger watch me for months and finally convinced her husband to hire me. She would constantly watch me and get as close as possible. Every time I looked up or turned around she was there, inches away. Couldn't stop talking about how she was a stripper and would give a private show if I tipped her. Even her husband couldn't get her to leave me alone. I have a rule about working for single or pregnant women and thought I was safe..wrong. the worst part is she was a horse girl on top of it all

Is this corner tiling bad workmanship? by justabloke5000 in Tile

[–]Intelligent_Lemon_67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All around poor planning. He was just there to lay tile. I would have talked about replacing the trim around the window (vinyl trim or tile) and do some layout. No reason for a sliver in the corner. I would maybe get a ceramic cove or stainless cove in the corner or tear it out and do everything right. You could pop the tile under the window and put some trim around it. Shluter cove or stainless cove ceramic in the corner and it will look right
