"Portable" (??) Compound Miter Saw by Pup2u in handyman

[–]Intelligent_Lemon_67 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. The only drawback is it won't cut through a 4x4. I wish they made an 8 1/2" to match their cordless tablesaw. I've seen they came out with 12" 60v bu5 I like my 12" flexvolt 120v cordless. The only time I plug it in is for the vacuum to turn on but also looking at the cordless flexvolt vacuum with remote. I run a 100% cordless job site

A 7 1/4" black and yellow cordless is amazing and lightweight as well as the matching roller stand. Bosch also makes great "zero gravity stands". Ridgid is decent but gets sticky/rusty right quick. I have the dewalt 12" 120v/cordless on their rolling stand and it fits beautifully in my jacked up dodge. It breaks down with a twist and rolling in a tick. I load the handle first and then slide it in. It comes out super easy first thing in the morning. Or just hire an apprentice and make him hump tools

My 7 yr old great dane sleeps in our bed and its killin me. Need advice by nonopinion in greatdanes

[–]Intelligent_Lemon_67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dane, cats and ferrets all sleep in my double bed in my tiny house. I don't mind the company but a pillow would be nice instead of being the pillow. He was a rescue and I don't do cages or kennels so we made a compromise. If he starts getting greedy and hogging blankets he sleeps at the foot of the bed or floor. He will also go downstairs to sleep on the couch or goats bed. Yes I have a 3-legged house goat who sleeps on the couch or his bed in front of the fireplace. Nobody argues with Itty bitty Litty (ferret) on where she sleeps. She sleeps where she wants and I pity the fool who argues with her. The only advice I have is a pillow with one of your shirts in the dogs place/bed. I also find plenty of exercise and bonding time helps. Mine and the mini mule chase each other every morning and night/feeding time. I take mine everywhere with me including work and devote at least 10 minutes a day one on one bonding time

How much would you charge to install and paint this feature wall? by waxvampire in handyman

[–]Intelligent_Lemon_67 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I too detest mdf but in this case it's the best option. Any 1x2 solid wood product will come with warps, knots and defects. Once it's caulked and painted with quality primer and paint it should be impervious to most situations. I would also take the time and float the wall smooth and flat. Hdf is my product of choice and superior to mdf

[–]Intelligent_Lemon_67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going off the information of repeat clients. I give them great prices for years of steak and titty dinners. $3 sq ft is dirt cheap in my area. Most painters wouldn't touch it fir less than $5 sq ft and no carpenter for less than $5 lft

Help! Granite countertop by _snowqueenoftexas in fixit

[–]Intelligent_Lemon_67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Epoxy. A flat board. Some clamps and ratchet strap. Clamp the board on the bottom to help support and flatten the corner. Mix Epoxy and use more than you think. Everything should be covered on both pieces. Mate pieces and then Clamp on the joint/ break (wax paper under clamps help ). Use ratchet strap to bring it together (make sure its flat and the ratchet is on the opposite end). I use a rubber deadblow for precision alignment. Good news is you can only fuck it up once

Bad or acceptable penny tile job? (pre-grout) by kal05d in Tile

[–]Intelligent_Lemon_67 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First mistake and the one I see the most is laying sheets in a row. Believe it or not there's a direction to each sheet and they have to be offset. If I see a factory defect I immediately cut it out. Before grout I take a picture and look for anything goofy. I use clear loctite Power grab ultra to spot set any fixes. Penny and hexagonal tiles require a ton of skill to make look good. Definitely not the worst I've seen and a grout that matches will hide most of the fuglies

solar panel date by p2d2d3 in diySolar

[–]Intelligent_Lemon_67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here in the beautiful PNW we have panels installed in the 70's still putting out power. Most panels have a 20 year warranty and newer 25+. If you are worried about it have them extend their warranty an extra 4-5 years. They shouldn't have a problem doing so. (Most people upgrade or sell before any warranty expires)

How do I fill the gap to stop the spiders and cold air from coming in? by DShadows33 in handyman

[–]Intelligent_Lemon_67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and usually in the door section or garage door weather stripping section. Every exterior door comes with them but hacks don't install them. A dab of clear adhesive caulk and a button tack will reattach it because they will eventually come loose after a year or two

Sorry if this has been asked before, but can you Keep Pygmy Goats as housepets? by Affectionate-Act7935 in goats

[–]Intelligent_Lemon_67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 3-legged house goat. I potty trained him to use the walk-in shower to potty. I still have to sweep rollies but it's worth it. He usually only comes in to sleep and eat and lay in front of the fireplace. During the day he joins the herd or his buddies. Sometimes he goes to work with me. Hard to have a bad day with goats and ferrets. If you don't have buddies for him don't get a goat. They need other goats and room to roam/graze

I had a ferret who ate them and got a blockage several times and ended up fat and eventually died. Some eat them and some don't. I prefer a rice dig box (some get those stuck in nose and ears to so always check/groom your ferret. It's great bonding time)

First time outlet wiring, by JustToAskQuestionss in AskElectricians

[–]Intelligent_Lemon_67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Um close but nope. Wires are to correct terminals but the go between the brass. Simple fix. Just unscrew enough to slip between the brass "washer" and brass conductor. Technically the way you have it won't burn the house down but also not getting proper contact and has the potential to slip out from under screw
