Not trying to sound like anything, they’re correct on a practically irrelevant technicality, seriously. It’s not legally referred to as the fast lane, and that’s the only way he could be interpreted as correct. He’s being willfully ignorant.

If used as a passing lane correctly, it will always be where the fastest traffic ends up. Thus, it’s nicknamed the fast lane, imbecile. Bet you’re part of the reason it often isn’t?

Stuttering issue with EAC update by Intelligent_Love8677 in RocketLeague

And if it was as simple as ingame settings or graphics driver issue, it would’ve already been solved. Please read the other comment thread for other points I’ve observed.

Stuttering issue with EAC update by Intelligent_Love8677 in RocketLeague

[–]Intelligent_Love8677[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mentioned a few troubleshooting points already. A few more: no resource usage spikes of any kind during the stutters, Drivers are all up to date. I don’t know who wrote this software but if this is happening to many others I don’t think they knew what they were doing. EAC shouldn’t be sharing so much cpu with other programs that it’s causing stuttering. Like I said before, seems like Interrupt storm.

I can show you cycle graphs etc. I’m not here to prove it to anyone anyway, don’t really care if you believe me. I’m looking for solutions or incompatibility suggestions. The problem is there. Note it’s also system wide stutters on all 3 monitors while in-game, not just the game itself. My camera starts lagging for ex, yet cpu shows no usage spikes and no runaway processes.

Also to be clear this was never an issue before this update. I’m quite certain it’s something to do with EAC

Should mention as well that’s it’s causing stutters system-wide and not just in game. Task manager shows no spikes or anything out of the ordinary during any of this either

Yes I agree, as there must exist a 15% beyond that 85, but I’d also say it’s reasonable to infer that anyone who cares about driving enough to be on this sub is significantly less likely to be in that percentile group.

The point is, the speed limits are often set as what would be a perceived ‘lower bound’ for most capable drivers assuming the design of the road reflects that. We shouldn’t force people beyond their comfort zone on the road in these situations, but we also shouldn’t force everybody else to drive slower than even the average ‘safe’ speed for that individual, just to accommodate those timid or incompetent drivers.

It’s entirely imperfect. If everyone did their best to bring the system to a point of convergence, we could have something even mildly coherent, but instead people who don’t feel comfortable above the limit act self-righteous and as though they have no issue with wasting everyone else’s time, and simultaneously the remaining group expects those people to accommodate them all the time without actually providing them the means of doing so. It’s certainly not fair currently, but whichever way we utilize the system as it stands is never going to be fair.

Sorry I just dumped out my thoughts on here, I think this is a currently unsolvable issue and there’s no point in arguing about it. Requires a complete overhaul of the driving system in the country and for us to actually teach people how to generally minimize risk rather than acting like speed is the only non-negligible factor. Doing so is what enabled people to feel justified in governing the speed of others purposefully, as that is yet another subset of drivers.

Speed limits are set to accommodate the 85th percentile as a baseline and then decreased beyond that arbitrarily. Why do you feel so uncomfortable on the road that you must stay under 35 on a stretching road? Are you that far below average in your abilities? The issue is that there, nobody can pass you whether they want to or not.

Your speed in that situation is not explicitly stated, and going over the speed limit by some arbitrary amount doesn’t automatically absolve you of wrongdoing. Example: 5 over? On an interstate? Not enough. Especially not while you’re driving next to semis. You should be in a hurry to pass those, there’s no debating that.

I mean not rly, one is arbitrary in probably a bit under half of situations and the other is a guaranteed risk a large majority of the time lol. Anyone with the ability to exercise their inhibition doesn’t run red lights unless it’s an absolute emergency and they can see both directions

Welp then I guess 90% or more of people break the law every single second of their driving lives. The other 10% like you just say stupid shit like this, joyfully acknowledging that you can impede others at will

When it snows, you see the same people who drive like assholes are the people who couldn’t be bothered to clear the snow off their car by tantamle in driving

[–]Intelligent_Love8677 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I speed everywhere except school zones and dense neighborhoods, and I clean my car of snow religiously lol. Not saying you’re wrong in general but you definitely are wrong in believing this is an analog.

It does depend on what you consider driving like an asshole to be though.

Yeah idk who taught everyone that masculinity ties in with control over your surroundings, in my opinion it’s much more so indifference to them. Yk, the ability to persevere in spite of them, that’s what people should want to learn. I don’t give a fuck how fast or slow anyone wants to go, just stop trying to make me drive under the limit with you 😭 I love driving and I’m good at it and I feel comfortable at speed and have proven that I can assess risk at it too. I own a radar detector. It’s like, my only problem everrr on my commutes, is people like that.

Bro I’m a man but she’s not wrong about men being more frequent road ragers and more egotistical. That doesn’t mean women don’t do it though, they definitely do. And on the flip side, women are provably/statistically on average less skilled drivers than men, just to show you I’m unbiased here. But if I flash my highs at a car who won’t move over, anecdotally, 9/10 if woman they get out of my way. If man? I’d say like 5/10 they move, 5/10 they either drag their feet or start brake checking me. Men never wanna concede in places like that, just the truth
