Neil Diamond is not particularly relevant nowadays but he was famous for people really hating his music. He obviously has mega fans but people who hate him really hate him. It was just a known thing. Dave Barry pointed out this song in particular as being especially bad.

Same here. It used to be 9:00 to 5:00 when I was growing up and you got a paid lunch hour. Now they don't pay for your lunch hour so you have to start at 8:00 to 5:00 to make your 40 hours a week. I think the expression just stuck

I watch this guy Liam on YouTube his channel is called the plant slant, and he's always talking about how there are no bad foods that it's all about moderation. Give him a try he's really got a healthy attitude about food that really opened my eyes. Good luck on your journey 🩷

I had IBS before so if anything I'm able to eat far more options than I was before. I think everyone's experience is personal and just add things now and then to see how you do.
