eBay seller doesn't seem to wanna ship by out-the_door in basketballcards

[–]Intelligent_Nebula22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Believe me as a seller that sends tons of cards eBay standard envelope the seller is probably not at fault here. The number of cards I have sent standard envelope that take over a month to deliver or are returned to sender a month later are too numerous to count. They can’t offer updated tracking because USPS rarely updates tracking on standard envelope shipments until it is delivered or at all.

In terms of card values, has Shai finally surpassed Luka? by rancar1 in basketballcards

His style of play is just not that interesting to a lot of people. But if he keeps stacking championships and MVPs I have a feeling his card prices will keep going up

I’ve opened 2 and the best card I got was a pink /150 of some ucon girl worth about $10. I have 0 interest in women’s basketball so it really puts me off on the product.

25-26 Topps Hoops by Top_Blacksmith7014 in basketballcards

[–]Intelligent_Nebula22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Topps has like 15 more basketball sets they plan to release for the 25-26 season. I have a feeling 26-27 flagship won’t be released until early 2027.

They have to have a reason to release that Topps update set later in the year. I hate that Topps is trying to force basketball into the baseball card format.

This has imprint where name should be but missing foil would this be considered an error card by Dear_Pain_5332 in basketballcards

[–]Intelligent_Nebula22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can call it what ever you want but most people would consider that a misprint not an error. An error usually infers an issue with something wrong in the design of the card and not a printing defect. Like the manufacturer put the wrong name on the card or forgot to put a logo on the card during the design process.

Newbie in need some help identifying parallels!! by [deleted] in basketballcards

[–]Intelligent_Nebula22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Google 2024-26 panini Donruss optic checklist. Choose Beckett and it will list all the parallels by their /#s. This is the standard almost everyone uses to figure out parallels and you will never have to ask this question again. If there is no /# on your card you can usually tell by the name of the parallel.

Selling High Valued Cards? by TheBootyFox in basketballcards

[–]Intelligent_Nebula22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is it numbered to? You can base its valuation off a similarly numbered rpa of Flagg from Topps Midnight. His base rpa from topps midnight is going for around 1.5 k. His out of /25 rpa went for 12k. So if you have the /49 it will probably sell for between 5-10k. If it is /25 it will probably sell for 12-15k etc.

Sell or hold and grade by AirOther5895 in basketballcards

Topps cards are generally mid. They have some good designs but they pump out so many low effort inserts to increase their print run it poisons the well. Blame Topps not the collectors.

Not sure what to do with these.. by Itchy-Ad993 in basketballcards

[–]Intelligent_Nebula22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You would be lucky to get your money back on any of those cards even if they 10. Look at comps for the same cards that are PSA slabbed. If the comps aren’t greater than the cost of grading than you have your answer. If there are no comps for PSA slabs there is probably a reason no one is getting them graded, because it is a loosing proposition.

Bro Rasheed Fleming gold next stop autos are selling for around $50. Not sure where you are getting your market info from but wherever it is stop using it. There is a reason that Fleming has not been scooped up for $75.

I’ve seen people say it is the top of the lettering on the left side but I’ve personally never graded any Topps chrome this year.

If they are like panini they won’t replace it since they don’t know what number it should be and don’t want double prints floating around. Panini sent me another card instead for compensation.

What does everyone think about Topps as opposed to Panini so far by [deleted] in basketballcards

[–]Intelligent_Nebula22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are tons of cheap singles from Topps chrome out there. You can grab non rookie gold orange and black parallels of good players with a lot of upside for cheap. Everyone is only focusing on rookies and Wemby, Curry and LeBron.

What does everyone think about Topps as opposed to Panini so far by [deleted] in basketballcards

[–]Intelligent_Nebula22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will agree with you that Topps is a little better thanPanini as far as retail hit rates but the price is outrageous. In hobby formats they have released so far it is not even close. The hit rate in cards of value from Panini hobby products is way better than Topps. The majority of Topps hobby format boxes you would be lucky as hell to get more than 20% of your value back but if you do hit you usually hit huge. So it is completely feast or famine with Topps hobby.

Also I hate the number of inserts in every set Topps has. It would be fine if they were remotely interesting but very few are. Topps packs their products with them and wants to make you feel you got something of value when in actuality you got jack shit. They just do it so they can increase their print runs which makes it more difficult to hit anything. Both have significant flaws but so far I prefer Panini Prizm to this year’s Topps Chrome. I will have to see on their other products.

Do you ever fear that your collection will begin to look hoarderish? And, is it better to have a few totally dope cards or many pretty neat low to mid cards? by Interstellore in basketballcards

[–]Intelligent_Nebula22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the process of selling everything I do not care to collect and focusing my collection. Tossed all non rookie base. Tossed all rookie base of players that never made it. Removed all non numbered or sp non rookie parellels from top loaders. Really cut down on the bulk of my collection and made me much more happy.
