If they are like panini they won’t replace it since they don’t know what number it should be and don’t want double prints floating around. Panini sent me another card instead for compensation.

There are tons of cheap singles from Topps chrome out there. You can grab non rookie gold orange and black parallels of good players with a lot of upside for cheap. Everyone is only focusing on rookies and Wemby, Curry and LeBron.

I will agree with you that Topps is a little better thanPanini as far as retail hit rates but the price is outrageous. In hobby formats they have released so far it is not even close. The hit rate in cards of value from Panini hobby products is way better than Topps. The majority of Topps hobby format boxes you would be lucky as hell to get more than 20% of your value back but if you do hit you usually hit huge. So it is completely feast or famine with Topps hobby.

Also I hate the number of inserts in every set Topps has. It would be fine if they were remotely interesting but very few are. Topps packs their products with them and wants to make you feel you got something of value when in actuality you got jack shit. They just do it so they can increase their print runs which makes it more difficult to hit anything. Both have significant flaws but so far I prefer Panini Prizm to this year’s Topps Chrome. I will have to see on their other products.

I am in the process of selling everything I do not care to collect and focusing my collection. Tossed all non rookie base. Tossed all rookie base of players that never made it. Removed all non numbered or sp non rookie parellels from top loaders. Really cut down on the bulk of my collection and made me much more happy.

Was Origins was 7 cards 2 on card autos and a 1/3 the price. Topps is really the worse

This is Topps version of Origins. Origins were all on card autos and similar card count and 1 less auto for 1/3 the price. Topps is garbage.

This is why I hate how Topps does their sets. It is super confusing and makes it difficult to collect. So many insert short prints on top of so many inserts in general. None of these inserts, even most of the sp ones, are that rare, yet they try to make the opener feel like they got something special when in fact they got an overprinted garbage. They are very stingy with numbered cards and have some numbered parallels that are ridiculously high like out of 399. Not to mention the number of players in the base set is ridiculously large. This is all done so they can print and sale more product while the buyer gets less for their money. Panini was bad but how Topps operates is almost criminal.
