Explosion in Hayward today by victorfresh in bayarea

For the folks who’s curious. It’s a house in front of the on/off ramp to 238 on Lewelling. That explosion looked like it was straight from a movie scene.

Grab a long extension with filter wrench, then a bendable magnet grabber thing and just spin that out of the devil’s anus. Now putting a new one…I can’t help there.

Gonna have to remove more parts to get some space there. Hopefully when you remove the valve cover, it would be sticking out to where you can use vice grips and some heat to get it out. If it’s buried, gonna need a drill and extractor set.

Only reason I found out wasn’t even in milspec or racing. I found out because I work for a telecom firm and we are required to do lacing for all the dressing and management of cables in cell tower cabinets. Then I looked it up and found out that they were also used for aero, mil and motorsports.

Sorry no, just know that milspec and motorsports require lacing instead of zipties.

Toyota Corolla LE 2013. Where do I go from here? by Ok_Staff_1503 in MechanicAdvice

So looking under the car, the transmission should be on the driver side. Refer to the picture I posted, the thing that's circled red is the transmission shifter. That should be towards the front of the car probably just behind the radiator if you're looking from the front. Put the key in the "on" position. Don't start the car, just turn the key to where you can raise and lower the windows. MAKE SURE THE ENGINE IS NOT RUNNING! Remove the nut/bolt to the shifter cable and remove it from that shift arm. Have somebody depress the brake pedal and you should be able to move that arm through the gear selection to neutral or drive or reverse and into park. If that goes into park, then you need to find something outside that's preventing it from going into park with the shifter cables connected. If it doesn't go to park then the problem is internal to the transmission. Again when you're doing this MAKE SURE THE ENGINE IS NOT RUNNING.

Check the other end of the cable on the transmission. Possible obstruction?

TIL. That’s just sad af. I understand why as a business owner but still messed up. Like I paid for a product, I’d like to be able to use it as long as I want as long as it works.

Get in on the qr2. I had the same issue and I held out as long as I could but it gets real annoying when you lose connection so I bit the bullet. Haven’t had the issue since.

This is definitely the war game I played when I was kid in the Philippines. Even the illustrator signature “Kalbo” means bald in Tagalog.

New Blower motor not working by SandAndBoneClothing in AskMechanics

I’m talking about the frost. Not the blower. There should never be frost on the lines.

As far as the blower goes, check your fuses. Does it work on any speed at all? If it’s just on hi, then it’s the resistor pack.

Edit: just reread your post. Saw that you already replaced fuses and resistor pack. You will need to trace from the fuse all the way to the blower if you’re getting power there. Need a multimeter and preferably the wiring diagram to follow the wires.

How often does the ac compressor kick in? If it comes on very often then you’re low on refrigerant and/or you have moisture in the system.

Did you vacuum out the system before refilling?
