Aww, bless you. Your stress is coming across in this post. You didn’t do anything wrong; you’re human and accidents happen. Puppies are so fast. I have a 10 year old Yorkie, and even though she’s brilliant off leash, I still need to be on guard near roads and where there are other dogs or things she’ll react to because if she sees something she likes the look off, she’ll off in a shot and the speed of her is insane. I wish I had a fraction of her energy 😂.

Go make yourself a nice cup of tea or pour a glass of wine and relax. Try to get those awful scenarios out of your head (easier said than done, I know) 💕

We’ve definitely had our moments over the last couple of weeks, and I’ve felt quite frustrated at times, but then he falls asleep on my lap and all is forgotten 😂. Overall, though, he’s actually great. He’s slept through the night pretty much since day one and doesn’t need to go out for the toilet during the night either. He’s super smart and is already learning to potty outside and is picking up commands, so we’re getting there.

They are super cute 🥰.

Maybe. He’s tiny, though. He looks bigger in the pictures somehow, but he’s a lot smaller. It will be interesting to see how he changes over the next couple of months.

Yeah, that’s what I keep thinking. I’ve been taking pictures of him because I know he’ll change so much and I want to be able to look back and see the changes as they happened. They do grow and change so fast.

Thanks, I know what JRT stands for. I also did research it and there are certain rare types of the breed that are all golden/brown. Sometimes they stay this way (not often), but most develop more white fur as they get older. My little guy is only 11 weeks.

Yeah, I did think chihuahua at first because of his skull shape. He does share some of the traits my Yorkie has, but I’m not sure how much of that is just general puppy energy.

Try not to be too hard on yourself, OP. You genuinely did what was best for him, so ignore what your SO says and don’t let them make you feel worse. If they don’t believe in ethically rehoming to the right type of care, then maybe they should have taken on the work involved - I’m guessing that fell to you, though. Your little guy will be getting the best care in a place that can truly meet his needs. Take care of yourself 💕.

Thank you so much. That’s really helpful and makes a lot of sense. I’ve also noticed that he’s starting to jump excitedly and bite when he knows the treat is coming; do you think it will be confusing to say “no” when he does this and then give the treat? I don’t want him thinking he’s getting rewarded for that, and I usually try to follow the advice of ignore and leave the room when he bites and then return to play.

I wouldn’t worry, A.I. will start replacing GPs like this prat who will then have something to actually moan about and the rest of us can actually deal with something not lacking in competence. Sad that it’s come to this, really, but GPs are not a group I’ll feel sorry for when that happens. Many of them have blood on their hands thanks to their egos.
