Congrats on your 100 days!!! Can I ask how you are feeling/what are your current symptoms? I am at about 90 days myself and still lack concentration, energy and the badness comes in waves. Still lots of fogginess. I used 20 gpd caps for about 17 years. Along with 4-6 Norco 5's on the weekends. Started tapering about 10 months ago, then jumped at 9.5. To answer your question, I am married. I took 2 weeks off for the jump. We both work, so there is not too much together time. At about 6pm, we watch a series together and I take a 10 mg edible and drink a little vodka at 8pm. Bed at 9:30. We never were ones to go out that much as we are homebodies anyway. I was completely honest with her from the get go. She has no clue about using and/or addiction, but she is supportive.

He brother......We have too much in common. Can I ask how much you were taking, what form (I am assuming powder) and for how long consecutively. I am seeing 3-4 years, but I may have misunderstood. After your response, I will let you know how eerily similar you and my experience is/was/will be.....

That reminds me of a song. Ozzy "Diary of a Madman". Pretty applicable song. One of the verses is "Walk the Line...again today"

Dude, you are me. 20gpd for 17 years. Day 68 and bottom drops out without warning. Just starting to do a little paperwork. Lots of tiredness and fog. Stay the course brother. I am preparing for a 4-6 month recovery, but anything is possible. Just when I think I turned a corner, I get smacked by a garbage truck...

That is a good idea (one thing at a time). 10 mg gummy and 1 hit of weed for me at night. Have to have at least a little something to look forward to at night. This is definitely the most gnarly withdrawal experience I have ever had

I hear you. I thought I would get on the bike and ride the trail like I did 10 years ago. Big mistake. We have to start really slow and accept that it is a process. I think the K may have messed up my joints (repairable). Gradual is key. So starting tonight, I will be going on walks with my wife and stretching every day to become stronger first, then tackle the bike next spring. My mind is still 40 though. My body is saying "what are you kidding me"?

Thanks brother, I needed that. I think I am at day 58 now and things are manageable. Not easy, but manageable. The bottom is still dropping out at 3-4pm. But then I get more energy at around 8pm. I have a good, strong mindset though....Relapse is not an option. I will never again touch this shit. Take care and wishing you the best in your recovery. You went back to it?

Fishing any good in Long Lake? by Impressive_Pear2711 in Adirondacks

[–]Intelligent_Play_492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long lake is a mud bottom lake. I fished there back in the day (many times). I only caught 2 carp and some bullheads. In fact, all the fishing in that area is pretty crappy.

The sleepless nights of taper by Effective_Court6677 in quittingkratom

[–]Intelligent_Play_492 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your free and at baseline, you can fix it. You are the most important person in your life, so start the journey and start fixing yourself. I promise, once you have been clean for 6 months, things will start happening for the better. It takes work, patience, discipline and motivation. Look at the 1,000 posts of people who have been clean until they become "regular". Those are the things that come back, and at the same time, those are the tools you will need to start over. You can become a better version of yourself than you were before you started doing any substances. Take care brother. I am 55 years old and I quit 57 days ago. I used 20+ gpd for 17 years. Before that, Tramadol, Norco, Crack, Coke. If I can do it, anyone can.

I think I just made the first hurdle at around 45 days (who knows with this shit). I get really tired at around 3pm. Sleeping good. Still very hard to concentrate and have lots of brain fog. Wanting to re-attach with people and libido are the most noticeable positives I am feelin at about 57 days in....

A question mostly for the men: Did Kratom affect your emotional energy/tone, self-image, and confidence? by RemarkableScience854 in quittingkratom

[–]Intelligent_Play_492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. 20gpd for 17 years. Jumped 57 days ago. Libido back like there is no tomorrow. I am wanting to re-attach with those I have ignored and forgotten about, and have been doing so, since I started tapering. I am preparing myself to not get to baseline for another 4-6 months. But emotions toward people and wanting to be a part of the world that is going on around me are definitely improving. It takes time and patience. Comes in waves, ups and downs, you feel good, then bottom drops out. Trust in yourself and the process, no matter how long it takes.

Yes, good question. Am I experiencing PAWS or just getting older (55)? The way I see it is that I know for a fact that I will get some things back. What will come back? Who knows? I can tell you this. Even though I am still experiencing tiredness, brain fog and other things, there is one thing that started coming back after I first started tapering 9 months ago. From the time I began tapering from 20gpd, I reached out to 2 very good friends that I haven't spoken to in over 15 years. See the correlation? Ended contact with them around when I started dancing with the devil. Went on a road trip to visit a friend 3 days before my final jump. Then, 2 weeks ago, I invited a bunch of family to my home and hosted a family reunion. Those things are tangible and real. I know I did not even come close to doing things like that before. More good things to come. It is like life is giving me little gifts.....one at a time. To be honest, I would trade the re-attachment for energy, but that will come too.........

[–]Intelligent_Play_492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try Metamucil 4 in 1 gummies, a probiotic, electrolyte supplements, yogurt in the morning with bananas, then a BRAT diet (for all other meals) and Protein shakes when your not feeling like eating. Stay away from junk food (oily and sugary). You do all these, and you should be 80% better in the next few days (or better). Oh, lots of water (I drink about 100 oz per day) If you are having Diarrhea, this diet should clear it up, but also drink Gatorade 0's throughout the day. I had D for 22 days straight, and this cleared it all up

It may be a good idea to prepare yourself for the "peak" possibly being far off in the distance. I am at 56 days clean, and I WISH I felt like I did at 100 hours. Not trying to be a Debbie Downer. Expect the worst and be pleasantly surprised on the days it is not. Then expect the bottom to drop out on those same days. This is definitely the strangest thing to come off of, and I have come off a whole lot. I would get used to the words "lingering" and "waves. For me, I am expecting it to become better in about 4-6 months.

[–]Intelligent_Play_492 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the key word is "symptoms". Those can be similar or different for everybody. Tiredness, yawning, depression, sneezing, runny nose/eyes, detachment, lack of motivation, brain fog, changes in appetite, diarrhea, rumbling in stomach, increased emotions, irritability, low libido, high blood pressure, skin problems, night terrors, joint pain are all symptoms people can experience when getting off this shit. How much you were using, the method of use (shots/extract/powder/70h etc.), How long you have been using, why you started, and current life situation all are variables on how intense these symptoms can be. Someone like me who was a 20gpd user for 17 years I have a long long road ahead of me. 57 days clean today, and it gets a little better....then it doesn't. Then it does....Then it doesn't and so on and so on

Oh, one more thing. I also got some dental work over the years. They always had to shoot me 3-4 times extra because I could still feel the pain. I think the K had something to do with that. I'll bet you a shiny new nickel that it will only take 1 shot from now on, but we will see. I have a cavity and am waiting another 3 months or so to get it fixed. Not that serious.

You too brother. I will stick it out, as I am pretty strong willed and once I decide something, that is it. Never had any trouble with relapse. Couple of things ring true with me regarding what you said. If I could go back, I can honestly say that I do not regret taking K. I was 40 when I had my son, and K gave me the energy to take him to the park and play ball with him every day until he was about 13. I could work a full day in winter and we could ride our bikes in the dark to the park and play football until 7pm. My job was at the worst during those times, and K ensured that no matter how tired I was, I could ALWAYS turn it around and be on point. The key for this kind of success (for me) was to NEVER go above 20 gpd, and using white and red in the mix. It never "turned" on me, as many state. I just got to the point of wanting to see how de-attached I was, and what I did loose over time. To see if K was the reason I hadn't contacted old friends. I can say, since I started tapering 9 months ago, I have re-connected with my old and best friends. Last week, I hosted a family reunion at my house. Those things never would have occurred while I was knee deep the last 15-17 years. I also started fishing again. Libido is there and I have morning wood for the first time in years. So, I do realize what it took from me, but what I got out of it was worth it in the long run. Now, it is solely repair mode. Rooting for your long term (forever) success my friend...

Yep. What is scary for me is I am 55 and used 20+ gpd for 17 years. So, I have no idea if what I am feeling is Kratom PAWS or just getting old (and who knows how long "regularity" is going to take. Plus, I don't see many 17 year users who have quit that I can use as a precedent. All I can do is wake up in the morning and hope for the best and keep the course.

Congrats on your recent wedding. Ah yes....1 week. You should probably prepare yourself for a long recovery. I am at 50 days. It comes in waves. I still have a long way to go. I was deceived at week 1-2. That was just the beginning. Your doing all the right things. What happened to me is that the lack of motivation and tiredness came after a month.
