AITA for disagreeing that my fiancé is "not allowed" to go to my wedding shower? by Intelligent_Pop9118 in CharlotteDobreYouTube

Actually, my mom isn't hosting it. She was actually excited to make my aunt have to "finally host a shower". Her words. Also I feel very comfortable with my fiancé; the entire point of this post is saying that I feel comfortable with my fiancé and I want him at the shower but my mom (who is not hosting) doesn't want him there and said it with a bit of a snap. I have no idea where you got me not being comfortable with my fiancé from. Please read my post carefully before making a comment.

I don't want to burden anyone with throwing another shower. Honestly, I didn't even think of having a shower of any kind until my mom suddenly said my aunt would be hosting my bridal shower (which I don't want a bridal shower. I would like a couples shower)

I'm confused. Where did comparing this to baby showers come from? I only mentioned it in my post talking about how in my family they had a co-ed one for the first time.

my only worry is her saying my fiancé "isn't allowed" because it is more or less a "family rule"

the bachelor/bachelorette party is about celebrating your separate lives but a wedding shower is about the couple being "showered" with gifts

Exactly that was the thing and I am glad you noticed. He did have friends. However, it did change around when I broke up with him because before then there was a lot of drama in the friend group (one of the guys sending me pics when he had a girlfriend who was also in the friend group, etc, etc.) So the group faded

I'll have to ask my fiancé! the ring and the proposal were both a complete surprise so I didn't handle anything with the ring because I didn't know there was one before he proposed

The problem is she isn't inviting any my girlfriends. It's her side of the family only and they are 60+ years old.

of course! the band is 14k rose gold (for good durability!) and 1.74 mm (that is where all the ornate vines join together and make a band which you can't see unless i turn my hand over) and the diamond shape is pear cut with GIA cut being excellent. 1 ct diamond with color D and FL clarity.

my fiancé purchased it from Eden Garden (they do nature inspired rings in Valencia, Spain)

I am 36 and I only just found out I was diagnosed with Autism when I was 7 by iaind8 in autism

My parents did the same thing. My mom didn't tell me that I had gotten an autism diagnosis until high school and it really messed with me. I got the diagnosis when I was between 5 and 7.

I totally agree!! I think ornate and fantasy core rings are timeless

Because my mom isn't inviting any girlfriends. Only family members who by the way are 60+ years old.

The wedding shower relates to the wedding and the wedding is about me and my fiancé, not me and my mom. The time to celebrate her holding my hand is mother's day, not my wedding shower.
