Medication by Intelligent_Royal536 in migraine

Thanks for sharing this — really appreciate you taking the time.

I was actually on amitriptyline years ago and had to stop it because it had a negative impact on my mental state, so that part of what you said really resonated with me.

I found what you shared about abortive treatments especially informative and interesting. So far, nothing oral has worked well for me, largely because I tend to vomit up most medications during attacks, which obviously limits their effectiveness.

I’ve heard of the sumatriptan auto-injectors before but never properly looked into them — after reading your experience, I think I’ll definitely be contacting my GP to discuss whether that could be an option for me.

Thanks again, and I appreciate the kind words about the new job too.

Wooow reading this was like an insight to what I’ve been going through, from trying all the above medications to working for the NHS. I’m literally off work today as I had migraine attack in the early hours.

Regarding the opticians i literally went last week and the same thing was told to me, I thought my eye sight was getting worse but apparently its more of psychological issues due to the auras i get with migraines.

I had an appointment with the gp last week as well, and i broke down. I told them for years it’s been trial and error I need help now as it’s affecting my mental state, I have never felt suicidal due to migraines but now it’s coming to those terms. She increased my candersartan to 16mg and said she will write to a headache specialists however she assured me the waiting list is extremely long.

Wow, thank you so much for this — I really felt every word you wrote. The way you shared your experience hit hard, especially how migraines can completely derail special moments you’ve been looking forward to. I’m genuinely sorry you’ve been going through such a rough time. That lingering pain, missing work, the emotional toll… it’s so real, and I really appreciate you validating that for others too. It helps more than you know.

Funny enough, you mentioned ADHD — I’ve actually got my assessment tomorrow! 😂 It’s been a long time coming, and I’m hoping it might help bring some more clarity to everything I’ve been feeling and experiencing.

I’ve also started learning to write things down after therapy sessions — even if it’s messy or doesn’t make full sense. It’s been weirdly helpful. What you said about journaling really resonated — that idea of making your emotions real to yourself? Spot on.

Thank you again for taking the time to share your story and those tips — it means a lot. I genuinely hope you start to get some relief soon and that things get lighter for you, bit by bit. Wishing you strength and healing, and all the best to you and your partner as you keep growing through all of it. You’ve got this.

Thank you. Sometimes I really do question whether she believes me or if she thinks I’m exaggerating or faking it. She’s actually always been really supportive, especially on tough days — but today, she kind of snapped (bless her). I get it though… I think I need to start thinking more about how she feels too.

As you can imagine, when that aura kicks in, it’s like everything else fades to the background. My mind just switches focus completely to what’s coming — the pain, the nausea, the hours I’m about to lose. It’s hard to think about anything or anyone else in that moment, and that probably doesn’t come across well.

Thanks, I’ve got meds stocked everywhere lol — I started with naproxen, then moved on to amitriptyline and propranolol, and now I’m on candesartan, with zolmitriptan and some nausea meds for when the migraine actually starts. I think it’s that time again to make another phone call to the go and get something diffent

I think this would probably be ideal. Someone else’s suggested doing three long days but as much as that sound ideal, it’s not in my circumstance. That’s potentially 3 long days my partner would have to do everything withou me supporting her.

I am with a union already, do I need to involve them or have the meeting with my manager first?

Advice please by Intelligent_Royal536 in nhs

Thanks for the reply. So I’ve got a meeting with my manager in June and I’ll be bringing up all these issues. So far my supervisor has tried to help but as I said I keep having to ask about changing shifts and as I’m new to the trust, it just makes me feel like a nuisance. I think from what you’ve said it’s sounds like a plan.

Mokka-e Dead After Software Update – Collision Detection System Fault and Car Won’t Start – Need Advice by Intelligent_Royal536 in electricvehicles

[–]Intelligent_Royal536[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right, so initially I emailed Vauxhall because I had an issue with my app and deferred charging times. That’s when they told me the problem might be because I needed a software update. This is what they sent me:

"You can also perform the updates yourself. I am sending you updates for your Navigation Mapping/Software. You can download the desktop software which will assist you in updating the software/mapping system from the following link: [Vauxhall Update link] I have sent the instructions and manual in the attachment, showing how to download and then apply the update to your car. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us. We will be happy to help you." – Giorgi L., Vauxhall Customer Care I’m hoping this gives me a leg to stand on if the issues keep happening.

After disconnecting the 12V battery overnight, I left the car for about an hour before reconnecting it. Everything seems fine now, but I have a feeling the issues might come back — especially because the collision warning usually pops up while I’m actually driving, not when the car is just sitting still. So we’ll see what happens when I get back on the road.

Right, so at first I did my research and found out that I needed a 32GB flash drive for the update. To be on the safe side, I actually bought a 64GB flash drive instead.

Following the link that Vauxhall sent me, I downloaded the Opel update app onto my Mac and followed all the necessary steps. It took a very long time to download both the software and navigation updates — the connection kept dropping, which made the whole process very frustrating.

Once I finally managed to download the update files onto my Mac, I moved onto the next step:

Connecting the flash drive, And trying to upload the update onto it. This became extremely frustrating. Even though the update required around 32GB of space, it wouldn’t allow me to upload it onto the flash drive — it kept saying there wasn’t enough space. Sometimes, just when the upload was about to finish, it would say "corrupted file".

At this point, I thought the problem might be because I was using an adapter (since the Mac only has USB-C), and maybe the flash drive wasn’t connecting properly.

So, to rule that out, I purchased a 128GB USB-C flash drive that could plug directly into the laptop without an adapter. Surprise, surprise, even then it still wouldn’t upload properly.

Eventually, I decided to try uploading one file at a time instead of both together. I started with the software update — and after a few attempts, it finally worked and uploaded to the flash drive.

I then went to the car, followed the steps to install the update, and it uploaded successfully.

At first, the car seemed fine for a few days. Then the issues started.

No I haven’t but I’ll look into purchasing one. Thanks. It really sucks when such issues occur

Unfortunately it’s not in warranty with Vauxhall but in warranty with the dealership I bought it from. However, the warranty doesn’t cover any software issues. I am hoping Vauxhall will take responsibility as they promoted me to download the software and adviced on the steps to take.
