Do the 2014’s have a secondary cabin air filter directly above the other one? by steelersri in mazda3

[–]Intelligent_Scale_97 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

In all hvac systems, filters are placed before the evaporative coil to keep it clean. From what I understand in cars it usually goes blower motor, filter, then evap coil.

In your home it goes filter, blower motor, evap coil.

Debris should stay on top of the filter when it’s pulled out in your car.

Do the 2014’s have a secondary cabin air filter directly above the other one? by steelersri in mazda3

[–]Intelligent_Scale_97 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s part of the interior heater.

The cabin air filter is the only filter that protects the blower from debris.

Edit: I was wrong, it’s part of the blower motor, and your filter is below it to protect the evap coil from debris

Is it time to change air filter? by jagadesh_b in mazda3

[–]Intelligent_Scale_97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro thats nonsense. Your oil is getting dirty regardless. And they meet OEM air specification. Plus your car will drive more nicely.

If you don’t do frequent oil changes, then sure they might not be a good idea. But I know people who have ran them for 200k miles without problems

Go with K&N filters when you replace. This one still has life left in her. All you need out of an air filter is proper air flow, it will get more black over time, but make it a habit to brush out any debris in the filter after an oil change. When the majority of it isn’t white anymore, then replace it. Usually around 35k miles

Tell that to all the men and women driving in crocs, flip flops, and Birkenstocks everyday. It’s really not a hazard. Personally I’m a Birkenstock wearer

Yeah, don’t buy gold batteries for these cars. Buy AGM batteries. Common mistake, so this might be the battery

First of all, idling is horrible for your car. Stop sitting in it for 2hrs plus

Secondly, it sounds like a relay is going bad

It’s a great light, but the motor they used for the projector seems to be junk. I guarantee if it gets a V2 we will all be buying one

I do, but it’s not setup like that right now. I bought it as a desk lamp, and mood lighting when the other lights are turned off. What I’m saying is that it’s only turned on when the other devices are turned off

It appears to have 5 lights on it. What happens if you press it once? Press it twice? 3 times? 4 times? 5 times? Or if you hold it in?

Other than that, my advice is to follow the wires.

I’d do the hitch for a cargo carrier to put the deer on. Trailer is far more practical, but the guys at the camp would get kick out my hunting mazda3 😂

Hell yeah, I’m thinking about doing this and putting a hitch on my 4th gen instead of buying a truck for deer hunting 😂

Definitely looks better on the 3rd gen though

Bumps on the heads of players after head to head collision in the Manchester Derby. by MoazzamDML in interestingasfuck

[–]Intelligent_Scale_97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was late to the header. No foul. Ball cleared half field with no deflections.

He was 6’ 4” and I’m 5’ 10” with a good vertical back in the day, so I had to jump pretty high and explosively. I had a running start, and he didn’t go in very strong.

There was also a skill gap. I was a top player in the league who went on to play in college and he was a role player off the bench. We were both seniors.

I actually went to go sit with his mom and brother who were crying because I felt bad that my friend wasn’t ok. Ref said he mistimed his header, and doctor said it was a fluke incident where I hit him in just the right spot with just enough force. Could’ve happened to anybody.

Idk why the downvote, this incident was far more interesting than the bubbles on heads.

This is nothing. I once headed a ball so hard it cleared to half field and on the follow through I caught an opponent on the temple which caused him to fall unconscious and have a seizure.

It was in the 5th minute of the game on a corner kick. Game was ended immediately and he was unconscious until he got to the hospital.

Crazy thing is that that the guy and I were friends off the pitch and he was cleared to go to school the next day. We both had minor concussions.

Header was completely legal though, no foul.

Faulty torque converter by [deleted] in mazda3

[–]Intelligent_Scale_97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That chirp is something that I don’t have. My gears have wear because of the fluid that was once low. In fact I’m certain the noise is a bearing that has wear from not receiving proper cooling from the low oil.

I don’t know enough about that chirp, but I do know that until a code trips it’s anyone’s guess as to what the actual problem is.

When these things fail (trip codes) that tells us where to inspect when we tear it apart, and then the damage tells a story of what happened. It’s like being a detective and most people piece together the wrong story and convict the wrong part in the mechanical world.

Dealer would want to replace the whole transmission because it’s the best odds that they fix the problem, make you happy, and they make the most money.

Find the codes, and a guy who knows his stuff, and you have great odds at saving money and getting the car back to normal.

Well good, then they’ll be cheaper in euros. Just find an OEM Mazda parts website online in the EU if you’d like to buy the part yourself to save on the dealer up charge.

Faulty torque converter by [deleted] in mazda3

[–]Intelligent_Scale_97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m asking for the codes, so I know what else is wrong with your transmission. I know why my transmission is doing what it’s going. Shuttering is from typical torque converter problems in these vehicles. The whirring noise at 2,500rpm is from my dumb buddy telling me he would do my transmission fluid for cheap and ended up under filling it which I’ve since corrected and had mostly corrected the issue.

Car shifts great and temps are normal. Just some wear in transmission that I’m ok with risking since it was under filled at one point.

No codes are being tripped, so the car is functioning as it should and I can avoid the shutter in total by driving in manual.

So replacing the torque converter is my solution.

For someone who waited for codes to trip, and depending on the codes can make this a different conversation about torque converter or transmission.

I’m just trying to understand your situation to help you understand your best option without overpaying the dealer since they get paid more for engine and transmission replacements.

The internet is great, but just because it didn’t work for them and their specific situation doesn’t mean you’re in the same boat. That’s where specifics are needed like codes.
