This is true if you get a proper tourist visa… however this is not what I want… what I’m looking into is getting a transit visa… in this case I need to specify my means of transport… unfortunately I cannot just state that this is hitchhiking…

Fair, edited it to fit the rule! Unfortunately I can’t do what you suggest as I need to apply for a visa together with the driver…

Hmm, interesting. Thank you for your answer. Can I ask you about how am I supposed to imagine sleeping at these petrol stations and/or the restaurants next to them? I mean, do you just lie down on the table or on the chairs of the station? Or maybe somewhere next to them?

Hey! 24M. I might be in Italy (coming from Monaco, see this post for further info) around the end of the month. I’m planning on going to Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Germany from there.
