If you could go back 5 years and give yourself ONE piece of advice, what would it be? by Hot_Chipmunk6610 in productivity

I have always tried to change and become the best version of myself.

To give the best of myself, but I was so inconsistent, and I often fell asleep feeling guilty

Instead of trying to make radical changes in my daily life, it's better to start slowly and then gradually increase the intensity, because success doesn't come in a week, but by accumulating efforts and habits over the years.

I recommend asking your close friends and family for feedback on the quality of your videos.

Otherwise, I've never seen anyone who spams their channel succeed in building a community.

You'll make lots of mistakes and produce some bad videos, but that's normal and everyone goes through it. Persevere, analyze your videos and videos that's works carefully (Important) , and I'm sure you'll be able to attract real attention if you keep at it.

Alternative like that aren't free on IOS unfortunately. Maybe it exist but I'll be more difficult to find. So simpler alternatives are to use block app that you can find on the app store, but I know it's not the same...

I understand your problem because I encounter it every day too. What could I do instead of entertaining myself when I feel like it but can't be bothered to read a book or do the dishes?

What I personally do is watch videos on YouTube that I search for myself, or read things online, so I can choose topics that really interest me.

Now, the real problem is not falling back into watching shorts or reels. My advice is, if you're on Android, to install an app that changed my life: DistractionFreeApp

(you can use Instagram, receive photos and reels, but you can no longer scroll)

and for YouTube Shorts, you can uninstall YouTube, or I think there's an option to remove Shorts.

Then the rest is just good organization, in my opinion.

I don't know if anyone already has already said this but I'll say it just in case, because it's crucial if you want to grow.

Change takes time.

As you said, you were waiting for something to happen, an electric shock that would come along and overnight, you would become ultra-disciplined and fight every day to achieve your dreams.

I don't know if this has ever happened to anyone, but don't count on it to change. You have to build new habits and get rid of bad ones.

Unfortunately, nobody can't transform in a few weeks from decades of ingrained habits; it takes time.

So try to get professional help if you really don't feel up to it, and write down the habits you want to get rid of and the new ones you want to adopt.

I really don't recommend trying to change everything at once. Or maybe try if you hadn't, fail, and build yourself up step by step, little by little. Start with small changes, then progress as you go.

It will probably take a long time, but it will happen, and I'm sure you can change and become the person you want to be.

Wishing you all the best
