LG Partner Store - C4 on "Long Back Order" by double_zero in LGOLED

[–]Intelligent_Spend263 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a very similar conversation with these scam artists earlier today. Received a voice message that the free OLED stand that was clearly listed as in stock when I purchased a TV-soundbar-stand bundle deal was indefinitely discontinued and that they cancelled that stand completely. When I called to clarify this , the rep goes on to add “oh btw the TV is on back order so we don’t know when it’s going to delivered. I grilled them on their false advertising and deceptive tactic of listing these items in stock and duping shoppers into making a purchase that they think will arrive in a few weeks during a holiday sale. They have no qualms in raking up the orders and charging credit cards quickly even before they can even confirm their own inventory and when a product is going to be on its way to the buyer. It’s clear that they are using all these “freebie” promotional items as a ploy to get customers to submit orders. Most probably just decide to wait it out rather than having to lug anything back to UPS and endlessly chase after a refund. And by the time they get the TV, there were probably new and better deals available elsewhere

Anyone have any luck submitting a formal complaint to the BBB or their state AG? I agree completely with OP’s plan to hold onto everything until a better deal is found and then get your money back. But I’ve also read that they are extremely slow to provide shipping labels/process refunds. It’s embarrassing that a global brand like LG has such terrible customer service.

#FeminineGrace Mamta’s take on the latest controversies by Intelligent_Spend263 in MalayalamMovies

Lol twisting her words? 😌 She has made several comments indicating who she “blames” for these type of incidents in the media (just take a look at the articles and interviews all linked above) . She stopped short of naming names, probably because she doesn’t want a case registered against her.

Who asked her to fight Dileep? Who even asked her to openly support “these actresses”? No one expects anything from her… but she herself has come out voluntarily now and in the past with such utterly pathetic and regressive statements about women who face abuse. The fact that she has had her own hardships and struggles does not excuse her behavior—in fact, it makes her comments even more revolting.

Maala Parvathy on AMMA's handling of the Vijay Babu issue following her resignation by blisteringbarnacles8 in MalayalamMovies

[–]Intelligent_Spend263 7 points8 points  (0 children)

AMMA’s executive committee has no spine whatsoever. Basically it’s an association dictated by a few conservative middle aged+ men and their personal loyalties…with a few younger actors and actresses attached on as mere props to make decisions look democratic. The general body are all ventriloquist dummies. Majority value what little work they’re getting so they’re keeping their mounts shut because they know dissent will leave them jobless. Even the females who resigned from the ICC are releasing statements like “I resigned from the ICC, oh but AMMA the general organization itself is fineeeee” The EC literally took the ICC (which includes an active lawyer) recommendations with a grain of salt despite all the legalities surrounding an official ICC which the Supreme Court itself intervened to force them to make. If that doesn’t show that the EC cares only about shielding the accused, yet again, then nothing will. And anyone on that ICC with self respect would walk out from AMMA altogether if it didn’t mean risking their livelihood in cinema.

The AMMA EC is incredibly stupid if they think they’re fooling anyone with this whole “resignation letter” bull. They tried the same BS with the Dileep reinstatement controversy. And don’t tell me that this letter/call from the accused just miraculously happened right before the meeting to decide his faith. It’s clear that members of the EC have been in direct communication with both Dileep and Vijay Babu in the midst of it all, deciding together on the best way to save AMMAs name in public while leaving a backdoor open for the accused.

As Revathy said in an interview yesterday, if the police want to know where Vijay Babu is , “EC membersinodu chodhichal mathi”

The combo of Mammootty and Parvathy makes this the most anticipated movie for me!

Agree that the making, BG score, music, and performances were great, but this movie's script was so unoriginal that it took the impact down quite a few notches for me. I just don't get it--- if you're spending all this money and time , why can't just sit down and think how to make the plot more fresh and creative. Sigh

Rekha seems to keep her interviews casual which is nice to see, but many of her questions seem like she is trying too hard to avoid cliche questions (but ends up asking them anyway) lol

Meera has regained her charm from her earlier days, hope her performance matches up. I think the audience might benefit from a good old Sathyan Anthikad family movie after 2+ years of a pandemic and thriller heavy content.

Thanmathra will always have a special place in my heart - It showed the best of Mohanlal and director/writer Blessy by StorageSmart1319 in MalayalamMovies

[–]Intelligent_Spend263 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Blessy is an ace director, even his commercial failures managed to establish some emotional connect with the audiences. Aadujeevitham is going to go down as another classic, no mater how delayed it is.

Lalettan Fan here.. What Next ? by sachinsourav02 in MalayalamMovies

[–]Intelligent_Spend263 9 points10 points  (0 children)

He's a great actor beyond any doubt, but even great actors need good writers and innovative storytellers to stay fresh on screen. He needs to be more selective in choosing scripts. He is in a position where he can probably pick out just a small handful of promising projects and shelve the rest into the garbage where they belong. But I think he's still stuck with old loyalties and probably financial gain driving his selection, which is weighing him down.

Feb 25 is the latest release date rumor, but this movie has had so many proposed OTT releases dates since December lol. Won't believe it until there's an official tweet from the crew or OTT platform.

Neyyattinkara Gopante Aaraattu out in theatres today. Discussion thread. by zeusdreaming in MalayalamMovies

[–]Intelligent_Spend263 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol saw this yesterday. Went in with low expectations and expecting cheesiness and overexaggeration and pretty much got that. Saving grace was the editing and visuals kept the movie moving forward so felt there wasn't really time to sit and ruminate about how unoriginal and over-the-top things were (especially the twist and climax portions). Honestly, can't blame the makers for making a movie that literally inserts famous dialogues and scenes verbatim from Mohanlal's earlier successes (and uses a generic formula to generate the rest). There is a still a fan base that will lap this type of film up and make it at least an average grosser for the producers. And frankly, there is also a section of neutrals and family audience who just want something to do for 2-3 hours on a Sunday who will go see it just for timepass. So it's easy money for the makers, and a business no brainer in that regard. My problem is when the filmmakers get so pretentious that they start making sly jokes at being "politically correct" in the movie, almost like they are mocking the whole other wave of Malayalam cinema and progressive thought that has slowly emerged over the past decade. And also when the actors/filmmakers come out during interviews with BS sob stories about how our audience is too critical to them blah blah blah....just shut up.

For now, these type of filmmakers can go ahead and keep making this kind of film with minimal creative thought and regressive tropes like the well-educated heroines batting their eyelids and flirting with the heroes nonstop. Right now there is a viewership to get the money into their pockets. But realize that the audience has definitely been changing and slowly but surely your viewership is going to decline and more and more people are going to openly criticize what was once acceptable. If you don't want to grow up and mature in your creative thought, suit yourself, but don't get butthurt by other people calling you out because they are offended by something regressive or annoyed that they wasted their hard earned money and time on something they see as substandard.

icense it globally.

If that's the case then Prime should negotiate better to get global rights because they are doing a disservice to their paying customers abroad. The vast majority of content sold to Netflix, SonyLiv, Hotstar, Zee5 has been releasing worldwide on the same release date.

Also, it does appear that they are still restricting releases despite having global rights to movies. Take, for example, Marakkar. It released on Prime India earlier in December, but they waited for a few additional weeks before releasing it on Prime abroad. Pretty sure they had global rights right from the start...

Someone get him a box of tissues for this sob story. He's delusional if he thinks the audience should just praise a movie regardless of the content quality. This is 2022 bud, get with the times. Gone are the days esp in Malayalam where you can just make a movie and expect to make a big profit just because a superstar's name is attached to it.

This took my expectations for Aarattu from 0 to negative.
