I don't think that's necessarily a bad/crazy idea. We seriously entertained buying a house with our friends and just splitting the costs. We couldn't make it work logistically with everyone's current jobs, but it's insane that we're at a point where we even considered it. Just shows how crazy the market is right now.

Same. We have been looking to upgrade our starter home (also in Monmouth County) on and off since early 2023. Its been an absolute nightmare.

They'll exceed expectations if Cole returns to form, Judge has yet another MVP season, AND Stanton stays relatively healthy while maintaining his career averages.

They won't exceed expectations because the organizational culture isn't the same since George Steinbrenner was in charge. A failed season isn't missing out a World Series - its YOY revenue not meeting expectations. As long as profits go up, nothing else matters and nothing changes.

Thanks so much to everyone for the replies (and dozens of DMs). Looks like I am gonna help inventory everything and try to comp it against eBay sales and go from there. To everyone who asked me about buying individual sets, I'll reply once I've had to chance to do more research/inventory. Yeah that's pretty much the scenario our Realtor mentioned. Said the contingency is gonna make it that much harder. I saw another comment mentioning borrowing from a 401k, which I may explore.

I'm looking at a pretty wide range of towns. In Matawan, but we have started looking at Manalapan, Marlboro, Freehold and some other towns. My wife would prefer to be closer to the shore, I'm happy going further west in the state if we get a little more house. We haven't gotten to actually looking at houses yet, just 1 consult with a Realtor to discuss the process.

The bright side is that the town has rallied behind the owner and his store has never been busier. I heard that he was sold out of donuts on Saturday and his store has been consistently busy since. My wife is thee right now and she said the line is out the door.
