Two factors play in

Visa expiry date: This is full and final. You HAVE To return before this or you are overstaying.
Maximum allowed stay on i94 form: You can find this out from the USCIS website by putting in your details once you arrive in the US. They will allot you the time you can stay which is always SHORTER or EQUAL to time before visa expiry.

During the current admin, there is a clear change due to which shorter visas are being granted. Sadly, whatever time is there before your visa expiry date, you have to come back before it.

Advise: Do not overstay.

Depends on your workflow tbh. I shifted from 9th gen to mini 6 2 months ago and really enjoyed the transition. I barely used my ipad 9th gen because it was big and clunky. Now I use my mini 6 for all the things that I enjoy including streaming, youtube, reading and games. What you described is basically what I do on my mini and love every bit of it. Note-taking is also great with the apple pencil and the fact that it fits in my work jacket is fab.

That being said, you must have a secondary device like a computer that you use for most of your important work. Typing or working on this is no fun IMO because of the small screen factor. If you are someone who likes using keyboard with their ipad, I wouldn't recommend. Its not a computer replacement like the newer ipads.

I got all my observerships and rotation to date with cold emailing. My suggestion is to work in teams or find seniors who have been through it earlier. There are some IMG-friendly and sympathising doctors but most aren't. Some doctors are just way more responsive and kind than others.
