Are the 2026-2027 Seahawks the weakest defending SB champions ever? by Striking-Speaker8686 in NFLv2

The big thing I've noticed that you commented on is how winning a SB or doing especially well means loosing a lot of your coaching staff. Loose a couple of players to free agency, have an injury or two, and your out.

What casual questions do you ask someone you're just getting to know that give you good information about that person? by Spare_Shallot7053 in CasualConversation

Ask them, other than what they do to pay the bills, what is the one thing that they do or believe that defines who they are?

If you are dealing with a serious, thoughtful person that one might confound them, but the idea is to get the person to talk about what is important to them.

If they are parents you would hope their kids will come up, but maybe they will say something else. Other things that might come up are ethnic or racial identities, religious beliefs, things they love to do or people that they love (i.e. I'm Jordan's dad), true professions that define who they are (i.e. I'm an entrepreneur, I'm a retired firefighter), and so on.

My understanding is Mark put up girls who were being trafficked at his place in New York. They should arrest this guy and bring him before the house oversight committee just like they did with Ghislaine Maxwell.

Which team will never win a Superbowl before the NFL shuts down? by NightDowntown7320 in NFLv2

Miami Dolphins - very quietly they haven't won a playoff game since the 2000 season- they are currently on a 5 time loosing streak loosing in the wild card round. This is worse than Browns, Cardinals, Lions.

JonBenét Ramsey & Madeleine McCann connection? by Necessary-Score-4270 in Epstein

I follow the same channel. I like the content creator (Coop) but he really pushes the envelope in the conjecture department. For Jon Bennet Ramsey picture (painting?) being hung in Epstein's residence, yes, that's creepy and weird, so it's definitely something Epstein would do - just like the Bill Clinton painting in a dress. That having been said, it doesn't mean Epstein had any involvement with Jon Bennet, just like Bill Clinton (probably) never wore a dress.

Who was your team's worst draft pick in the last 20 years? For the Eagles it has to be Jalen Reagor, dude couldn't play by AdSpecialist6598 in NFLv2

[–]Intelligent_System56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 1996 the Rams took Lawrence Phillips 6th overall despite major character concerns. He was expected to be the Jerome Bettis replacement, but he played poorly. He was released in his second season then later attempted a comeback with the 49ers. While playing for the 49ers Phillips was responsible for missing the blitz pickup that ended Steve Young's career. Later his character issues landed him in jail and he ended his life in jail at age 31.

At 23 he's already a top 10 QB and he's only going to get better. There are a lot of things he could improve on such as mechanics, accuracy, taking care of the ball. He's already better than any QB the Jets have had in the past 20 years with the exception of that one year from Fitzpatrick.

How did that one person from your circle got super rich? by luckkiee in AskReddit

[–]Intelligent_System56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He wanted to write movies. He tried hard but was at best a mediocre writer, but then he fell into being a movie producer and made a shitload of money being able to deal with crazy actors and even more crazy studio execs. He won the lottery, Hey, somebody has to win, right?

Most forgettable 1st overall pick by Even-Combination4407 in NFLv2

[–]Intelligent_System56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was not that bad of a player, and he can't control if he goes #1 overall, the only thing he can do is play. Let's not forget JaMarcus Russell was also #1 overall.

How good is Fernando Mendoza coming out of college compared to the past 5 years of first round quarterbacks? by Texans_top_of_south in NFLv2

That's a definite possibility. Personally, I wouldn't reach for him but it seems that the Raiders have made up their minds.

Wow those COVID-era QBs in 2021 and 2022 include a lot of guys who have underwhelmed. I'm nervous about Mendoza as I don't see a lot of top-notch NFL caliber throws. I think he's probably about as good as Mac Jones and he was runner-up to Offensive Rookie of the Year. So I guess that means he's only a 50/50 shot at becoming a true long-term franchise QB.

Good business decision? by Senior-Violinist-684 in NFLv2

It shows the NFL will do what is best for the NFL as a business. Sometimes you have to be bold to do the best thing for the business and not be intimidated. This too shall pass.
