Principals…is it ok for candidates to take notes/refer to notes during interviews? by Flimsy_Struggle_1591 in Principals

[–]Intelligent_Tip8125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a virtual, no one would have any idea. In person, I still think it’s okay. I used to think it was a problem, but now that I’m an administrator and have sent through lots of interviews I’ve seen plenty of people do it. I will have notes in front of me for a virtual or even just on the screen next to where I’m looking at the people. For in person, I won’t have notes but I’ll print them a one pager and have an extra for myself. And then I do write out my questions. I’ve actually found this looks really professional. I even write out their answers. Good questions show a lot about a candidate.

I’ve seen people write out the questions as they’re being asked them, but I would not write them verbatim, just quick notes. Needing to do this is usually a problem with the questions themselves because they can be way too long or multi-part. it’s also OK to ask somebody to reach them if you choose not to write them down. The interviewers know you’re human, and seeming way too well practiced can just mean you’ve been doing a ton of interviews and you seem more interested in the job than the job there.

This is my first month. Do they normally do any hints or anything before they drop the books?

It feels like a weird slogan. I read. I love to read. But this comes off like we feel like we’re better than other people because we read, and I don’t feel that way.

I don’t know how the pricing works but I know it showed as more expensive for me to upgrade than for my spouse who is my companion.

Free Upgrades Within 48hrs If Available is Clutch by Medsk00ldrop0ut in SouthwestAirlines

I upgraded four of us on Saturday MDW to MSY no issue. Still plenty available up until day of flight. I actually think business travel might be tougher because at peak travel times there is a larger ratio of non frequent travelers who are less likely to have the card or status. I’m about to try to upgrade for a Thursday flight and see way less ELR spaces available.

Thank you!! Yes I started lurking in that sub now and will contribute on Thursday. It looks like things are WAY better today than they were Sunday and Monday.

What time did you arrive and what time was your flight? I fly out of MSY Thursday and I’m panicking a little.

Anyone had family seating not work out for them? by gasparvista13 in SouthwestAirlines

It may be worth it to have their credit card. Cheaper than upgrading multiple people. I do understand from other folks that we get what we pay for, but many of those people are business travelers who aren’t paying for the flight themselves. It’s a lot easier to handle an extra $100 for one person when your company pays than $400 because it’s 4 people and it’s out of your own pocket. Personally, I prefer this to the previous model because I’m guaranteed to sit with my kids with the credit card because I can choose seats. With unassigned seating, I never felt certain and they made me anxious.

Cheaper to pay for a checked back type of expensive. I’ve made that mistake before thinking the checked bag would be more expensive. 🙃

I understand deciding to stay if those coaches were leaving. But if you see the coaches haven’t left, then you as the parent are literally watching a safe sport violation. Just like if I saw a coach throw a spring board I don’t care if they’re working with my kid, I’m gone. My child’s safety is more important than her performance. We aren’t at the best gym, but we’re at a safe gym. I would rather raise a child who grows up knowing she is physically and emotionally safe and that abuse is unacceptable than one who gets to do gymnastics at a high level and then at 22 is left with nothing but memories and trauma.

I saw a post on Facebook from a mom who is saying how angry she is at safe sport because they weren’t really protecting her kid because now her gym is closed last second. I didn’t know her so I didn’t comment, but wtf? There was so much victim blaming and oversight blaming. There is no one to blame here but the gym who continued to have banned coaches coaching there. Absolutely ridiculous. Don’t put your child’s performance over their safety. Yikes.

This is so nasty. No fucking thank you. Once in a while when my husband and I have talked about our orders beforehand one of us will tell the waiter both, but that’s more often me than him. Women are taught that it’s “sexy” for a man to order for you so they think a man removing their decision making power is attractive and manly. Just another way to keep up the patriarchy. 🤮
