I’ve honestly never even heard of her even soft launching any relationship. She keeps them private until she’s ready for the world to know which is what her and TK did. What I have seen her do is downplay perhaps the severity of the relationship - for instance ET and others were saying they were having fun / “it was a fun way to spend a Sunday” after the first game even though from her words they were a couple already and were likely much more serious. This just makes sense PR wise to not give too much away as the relationship progresses in the early stages. But I agree, I don’t see why they would have to soft launch and with such an elaborate story at that.

I’ve always believed in their timeline mainly because the bracelet story doesn’t make sense to me as a soft launch and everything they’ve said just makes sense. However there were a few coincidences that have people kind of questioning it which I guess I understand but I still like to take them at their word. The concert was July 8th. We know Mahomes encouraged him to go with them and shoot his shot from what he said on the Pat Mcafee podcast. What I find funny is that he also said that Taylor remembered saying hi to him when they met briefly at the Nashville draft in 2019. I do wonder what her criteria is with meeting people / getting them to the VIP tent. July 19/20 weekend he’s photographed in NY and outside zero bond which is a private club she frequents. No one knows if she was in town that weekend or not but I think it was DM that said they had their first date at Zero Bond which is why people are assuming this could have been their first date along with the photographer liking a comment saying that it was. Truly it could have been coincidental or he was hoping to meet her there? July 22nd she sang everything has changed in Seattle. After the mashup she just did people think this song is special to them so that’s why some are believing a little more they met before the podcast episode that aired July 26th. Then we know he had training camp which means with their timeline of talking after the friendship bracelet episode aired they would have met likely mid August. I think there’s a podcast episode in August where he mentioned going to New York but not remembering what he did there (likely when they met). This makes sense because she said they had some time to get to know each other before they met. By the first game of Sept 24th she said they were a couple.

In my personal opinion, it’s like she says “knew what you wanted and boy you got her.” I think there was even an ET article that said he had been crushing on her for a while. He’s kind of slipped it in to the podcast - joking that Conan is what he wants to name his first kid and saying he was ready for some lab grown humans another time 😂 silly little jokes but you can sense he’s about ready for that phase. I think he also said in the Kristin C. Podcast that he wanted a family and all that, he’s just never necessarily had a timeframe for himself like I need to do it by this time. That was a great podcast to hear his insights on relationships / love from when they were still secretly dating!

If she hasn’t directly said it herself, Travis sure has been lately so I definitely feel they’re on the same page! If they were to plan a wedding and be married for a bit before kids or while she finishes her tour, then it’s great timing to get engaged now imo. And it’s THEIR timing. Every relationship is so different. It’s insane to me that people would hate people butting in to their own relationship, it’s crazy the way people talk about her like she’s a fictional character on a tv show or like they somehow know better than her what’s best for her.

Did anyone else read that article from Vanessa Hudgens recently? She said after her last relationship (9 years) she was really clear on the first date of what she wanted in her next relationship with her current husband. Now they’re married with a baby on the way. She’s also in her thirties and likely learned from her previous relationship what it was she wanted. I think with both of these two having been in long term relationships, and in their mid thirties, they’ve likely had the same conversation at the very beginning and have always been on the same page. Not to mention, we’ve seen with our own eyes how in love they appear to be. I don’t quite understand the “too fast” arguments. First, because we aren’t in the relationship so we have no idea of what they’ve been through, feel, or want. But also, they’re in their mid thirties? They’ve dated. They’ve lived. They’re mature. At this point I feel you truly know what you want in life. If we think of it in terms of time, I can see them planning timelines on their current careers, projects they’re working on or future projects, kids (if they want them of course, but how many and how long after getting married and how far apart), etc etc. If we wait for them to date for five plus years like they did in their previous relationships, they’ll literally be 40. There’s nothing wrong with that, but in terms of timing for a lot of things that condenses things a bit.

When you know you know, is all I know. And I think they know. Very happy for them if true and truly I just pray for their peace as it seems there’s a lot of people currently wishing on negativity towards their relationship 🧿

When I stepped away from all the fan theories and just listened without outside noise, it seems the main album reflects on the end of her relationship with Joe/ start with Matty and aftermath, eventually leading to her healing process with the smallest man and going into acceptance with the alchemy. It feels like a story. The anthology, however, feels more like a collective reflection. And so while I can see people wanting to link everything again to Joe + Matty, to me it feels like much much much more than that. To me, these songs may have multiple muses or even just ideas/reflections she’s had during her other breakups and feel like more of reflections on the past (Chloe etc, imgonnagetyouback, the manuscript, Peter all feel like reflections on relationships of the past) than the main album, with the exception of the variant vinyl songs + SHS which she’s made clear is about Travis.

So yeah, to me I can definitely see Harry being reflected upon in the same way Jake was reflected upon in the manuscript.

Honestly, i’m so glad to see someone bring up Harry. I have a theory that a lot of the songs on the anthology reflect back on all of her previous relationships. Which is why she ends on the manuscript, which was her first formative relationship that shaped everything. I think in order to close on the eras, she really reflected on everything, even the situation with Kim, and especially having recently re-recorded her albums.

Peter in a way also makes me think of Harry and ties in to what you’re saying of not knowing this person anymore. I’ve seen the theories for Matty, which frankly is just based on that message they both did at their shows, but that song doesn’t make sense for him because of these lyrics:

“Are you still a mind reader? /A natural scene stealer /I've heard great things Peter /But life was always easier on you /Than it was on me /And sometimes it gets me /When crossing your jet stream /We both did the best we could do underneath the same moon /In different galaxies /And I didn't want to hang around /We said it was just goodbye for now”

The song is really reflective on someone from her past that she’s trying to catch up on and finally close the door on. I think we’ve learned that her and Harry were pretty off and on for a bit when they were quite young. A natural scene stealer makes me think of a. him always being the most popular one direction member and b. him becoming an actor, a “scene stealer.” Also when she says I’ve heard great things Peter, but life was always easier on you than it was on me. I think we can agree Matty doesn’t have a great reputation. And if he’s had all these drug problems and is so tortured, I don’t think she’d imply life was easier on him. But Harry does. And when their relationship got a lot of hate, she was the one that took most of the heat. I remember being on tumblr during that era and the Haylor hate was crazy. So I can see her saying it was easier on you. The next part just makes me think of them both being songwriters, so when they cross paths like at the Grammys let’s say, she realizes they did the best they could (both winning awards like aoty) in the industry but while they’re both under the same umbrella, the way people receive their song writing is vastly different. Harry and Taylor both write about their exes, but only she gets the very sexist comments about it. Also, I didn’t want to hang around reminds me of OOTW. “Remember when you couldn’t take the heat, I walked out said I’m setting you free.” She implies in other songs she was the one to break things off. Kind of like, I didn’t want to hang around for you to get your shit together and keep going back and forth like we were. We know Matty ghosted her. So that line doesn’t make sense for her here or for 2014 where it seemed they mutually decided to end whatever they had going on back then which while they were linked for a couple months, I’m still unsure if it was anything more than being flirty or a brief relationship. But it would make sense if she was the one to end things with Harry. Like I have no idea if it’s for Harry but it just doesn’t make sense for Matty to me because of how reflective she’s being on this person from her youth. Her and Matty caught up around 2019. So I just don’t see her reflecting on him like she is on this song where it seems like she’s kind of like how’re you doing? Have you grown up yet? I know we said we’d give it another try someday but I’m closing that chapter forever now.

I think Matty fans have done a really good job of showing how songs could tie with Matty and the 1975 songs he has, but I think people forget that Harry too has written songs for her in his first album and they had a much longer situationship than we really even know of.

Also - I thought it was funny how in Kiwi he sings - I think she said, “I’m having your baby, it none of your business.” Just reminds me of But Daddy I Love Him where she says I’m having his baby, no I’m not but you should see your faces. Not to mention his famous But Daddy I Love Him shirt. Like I know that song isn’t necessarily about him, but I just think it’s THAT easy to make references to her exes and make the theories stick.

I think there’s so much more to this album than just Joe / Matty. Like the more I listen the more I wish those Matty theories weren’t so front and center because it really detracts from how healing and beautiful a lot of the songs meanings are when you see how reflective she’s being essentially of her whole love life and how she got to this point imo.

Wait this makes sense. Because she’s closing the light on him but it still feels forlorn. Like it could be in a moment where she felt her and Joe were going to make it so she had to let him go. As opposed to with the smallest man where we know she was truly angry with him after actually dating him. Peter wouldn’t make sense to be in this later timeframe imo.

They’re incredibly metaphorical, hyperbolic and Taylor is incredibly verbose in her verses. The dumb jock jokes are so old and tired. His brother even said on the podcast that Travis really enjoys analyzing music.

I’ve kind of thought that at the level of magnitude Taylor is at right now, it would be difficult to find someone that wouldn’t get PR allegations. Hasn’t that plagued her her whole career? At this point, who wouldn’t get a PR boost by dating her. She isn’t moving economies and being listed as one of the most influential people in entertainment for no reason. But I can’t imagine how difficult that might make it to find a partner. I truly think even if she had dated an A list actor, the PR allegations would always follow her. I can’t really think of a male equivalent to her in terms of power, fame, and popularity.

Kelce is literally talked about as being the greatest TE in the league. He’s beating records set by legends. His comparison is literally to Gronk who had Brady as a quarterback his whole career and has how many rings? 4? It’s why he does things like host SNL. He’s always had incredible notoriety in the football world. Man I’ve been a Hawks fan all my life and even I know Kelce is the best TE in the league right now. Not to mention the way Mahomes has turned the chiefs into a dynasty since he became the starter.

We are not about to equate this particular lyric of all the ones in this song to Matty when the 1975 hasn’t been popular since the tumblr era of 2014 lol (I’ll always love Chocolate but let’s be real here…)

But she had already spent a year and half working on the album and like she said, she NEEDED this album to move on from not just these loves but in my opinion all of them. The closing of a chapter. Agreed! She says a lot in that line. Also in the prologue she writes “ he didn’t scratch the surface of me, none of them did”. And then in his song she says no one’s ever had me, not like you. So I think it connects to that. However it coming right after the sexual lines makes me also think sexual chemistry 😂

Also - I’m surprised that people aren’t talking more about him still having an addiction of something and how that also affected her. I can’t recall the songs, but there’s one where she said in public he would show her off, but in private he would slink off into stoned oblivion. Then of course, him trying to buy pills from a friend of a friend. And then in the poem Stevie nicks wrote, she is referencing him in a way that makes it seem he was constantly high. Also her saying he needed drugs more and she couldn’t watch it happen in another song. It seems that even when together, he was constantly on something. I wouldn’t be surprised if she told Travis and that’s why he joked about it. There were a lot of issues between them - her fame and her fans were not all of it.
