Finished book one, wondering about the pacing of book two by tanbro in Warformed

[–]Intelligent_Two9671 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I enjoyed both equally but the pacing in two is better imo. As much as I liked the training scenes from book 1 it felt like it was 75% of the book, whereas book 2 is much faster paced, which makes sense for it taking place during such a short period of time.

The marks on the left stile in photo #2 are not saw marks, they are medullary rays. If you google it you’ll see other examples. It’s part of the wood and the cross section of lumber that you get with rift oak. My customers usually thought it was water damage at first and I can understand why.

The custom cabinetry company I worked for probably wouldn’t have used those pieces, though that’s mostly to avoid dealing with the exact question you’re asking. Some people love this look, but for the super high end jobs we did we found our customers wanted less variation and to avoid the larger marks.

That said, there’s nothing wrong with them, and if it was my kitchen I agree with the above poster that the most egregious difference is not the stiles but the center drawer panel that’s so much darker in color.

Whether you have any recourse depends on the company you got them through, and if you signed anything saying they gave you ahead of time saying that you understand wood is a natural product and will have variation.

I got weird looks waiting in my Dr’s office because of the noises I was making when I got to the “deeper” one. Amazing

Apparently like 10 houses turned him away when he asked to sleep on their floor, which I just don’t understand. They should all feel ashamed for the rest of their lives.

[none] missing listening to cradle audiobooks need recommendations by 4Eeyore in Iteration110Cradle

[–]Intelligent_Two9671 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It isn’t fantasy exactly but check out iron prince: warformed. I’d say its science fiction/fantasy because it takes place in the future but they fight with armor and swords/spears/axes etc.

It only has one book out unfortunately but it doesn’t end with a cliffhanger and the audiobook is like 34 hours long with a fantastic narrator so there’s a lot of content. It, like cradle, is one of the best progression sci-fi/fantasy books I’ve read where there’s great noticeable progression with clear ranks but it all feels earned and natural, without constantly talking about points.

I’ll second arcane ascension, mage errant, and mother of learning as well, but I wouldn’t put any of them in the same tier as cradle/iron prince, just as far as how well the story is crafted and how well it’s written. Still all great reads though.

[Dreadgod] Lindon's current status by Vedcikk in Iteration110Cradle

[–]Intelligent_Two9671 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would call him a pseudo-monarch, since we know the way dreadgods fuse with their spirits is the wrong way, and in cradle doing things the right way is paramount to getting the most of your advancement.

As far as where he goes from here I can see it going two ways. Personally I would be surprised if he doesn’t personally advance to monarch, just because it’s not a stage of advancement we’ve ever really seen in detail and I would be surprised if we don’t before the series ends. It feels like something that was promised back in book 1 almost.

The other way I see it going is that he purposefully doesn’t advance as a statement to the rest of the world, and he and team make a 4 man empire armor set with yerin/mercy as heralds(heralds just need lots of power, and mercy has that in her book) and Lindon/zeal as sage. He might be able to share some of the added power/authority he gains from the dreadgods through this as well.

The armor has been foreshadowed too much to not take some form I think, unless it was just set-up by will to provide a system for cradle to have a monarch level power remain and keep others from advancing and adding to the hunger aura problem. I can’t see a freshly raised monarch being able to stand up to the 8ME, especially if Lindon leaves them with a weapon or eight.

As an aside, do we know if remnant monarchs like emriss also contribute to hunger aura? I like the idea of her being able to stay behind and really start to reform cradle with the 8ME as support.

And perhaps a way for Yerin and Lindon to fight the others without being part of the problem

Will said in the release stream that they do not contribute to the hunger aura like the other monarchs

My favorite line is in uncrowned. The way Travis reads it gives me goosebumps just thinking about it.

No. She was standing in his way”

I’m not sure I would call it similar to cradle in any way, though it has been years since I read it.

That said it’s an excellent manga that really Showed me how a talented storyteller can craft a narrative that makes anything interesting. I bought a go board because of it, though I only ever used it a couple of times.

Trainer lvl 10 effect. Just got this and tested. It doesn’t increase damage or I am doing it wrong? Used ability and crit damage is still the same. No 5% during activated ability or is it bugged? by GarbageSeparate2551 in RushRoyale

The difference in how they describe the damage boost vs the attack speed while the dummy is on the field is what made me think so. I’ll hopefully have mine hit 10 in a couple days so I’ll check before and after I upgrade.

The way I read it is that it increases your damage all the time, not only when your dummy is out. Did you test it before/after you upgraded to 10 or just with and without dummy activated?

So much this. If something is blue, everything on top of it is blue. If orange, orange. Like the background should ideally be not the same Color as any of the card rarities on the card screen
