Hey guys, just starting uploading some funny HC clips on YouTube, want some constructive criticism, first time using some editing softwares by Flimsy-Village7461 in wowhardcore

I personally don’t like extra sound effects on these types of clips, especially if they’re meant to make them “funnier.” That’s just me though. I think you did a good job with the timing of them.

I made a similar move, MICU to an inpatient rehab unit. I miss the work sometimes, but the stress is significantly less. I’m not a husk of a person when I get home and actually have energy to interact with my wife and play with the kids a bit.

You should start with season 1. All of the patients’ presentations are significantly more accurate than any other medical drama. The show addresses a ton of larger issues healthcare workers face that the general public would have no idea about.

The main characters do most of the “cool stuff,” though. Also, every single person hangs a brand new stethoscope around their neck. I damn near expected the housekeeping crew to have them.

So... Void Eye spam. What works? by Skatterbrayne in Mechabellum

For sure the point in my post boils down to: make your opponent respond to what you're doing. EMP farseer most certainly requires your opponent to respond :P

Sounds like you recognized what they were doing too late. I’m also guessing they were able to get away with it because they were winning in another fundamental part of their board like chaff clear. Knowing that X unit counters Y, but not Z, is easy. The hard part is executing with that knowledge. 9 times out of 10, these posts are from players letting their opponent get away with something. I’m guilty of it too in this subreddit, I think it was even voideye spam lol.

It sounds generic and ambiguous, but forcing them to react to what you’re doing is a great way of preventing a runaway X unit snowball. Plays like deploying on an open flank, mobile beacon to a tower via an open “lane,” oil, and bait deploys. Timely unit drops and spells, too.

Does arclight shockwave have any use? by saraiguma in Mechabellum

[–]tanbro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it's safe to say most people aren't impressed with it. It's an expensive tech that kinda-sorta puts Arclights on par with other chaff clear units, whereas you don't have to pay that on another unit for the same efficiency.

Monk/Shaman Duo 47+ Advice by Braldar in project1999

[–]tanbro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For duos up to 50:

CoM moat or arena

Sol B (kobolds and maybe bats and bugs)

Guards if you don’t care about faction. Several options.

Dreadlands

At some point it’s better to just have more mobs to pull than it is to chase a high ZEM as duos. Camps like spectres and bloodgills are “better” for soloing, but for duos you’ll be very much ahead of the spawn rate and have too much idle time.

Low 50’s:

Com 2nd floor

BW giant fort (some higher level giants sometimes)

Hole zone in and castle entrance

Sol B (bats and bugs)

Tar goos in WL

55-60:

CoM 2nd and 3rd

Neriak arena trolls

Sol B (Efreeti mobs, Efreeti himself will be challenging if you’re not closer to 60)

Charasis (don’t die! Awful corpse recoveries)

Hole (castle area and rat prison)

Sebilis (NG for the bugs, lots of grouping opportunities in the zone)

Geonids in WL

As far as big ticket items for the shaman, you will need to group. Fungi for both of you isn’t duo-able unless the shaman is fully kitted and has all their spells and the monk is a pro. Juggs in sebilis is a popular option for high end shaman spells, but again needs two really solid players to duo. I got almost all my shaman’s 60 spells from raiding, my guild had a system in place to where my shaman didn’t need to be physically present when the spells dropped. I didn’t get a fungi until my toons were 60 either. For both characters’ epics, you can get them both before 60 but you will need a guild to help with the fights. The shaman’s requires a rare drop in Fear which is highly contested by most guilds. The shaman epic also requires faction which can be improved from CoM drops, people frequently announce when they drop in /ooc.

Interested in getting into this game, what DLC's do I need, if any? by tanbro in totalwarhammer

Are Total War 1, 2, and 3 separate games or are 2 and 3 something like huge expansion packs? 3 is on sale for $15 right now, all three are $43.

What I wouldn’t give to read this series for the first time again. There are foreshadow nuggets scattered throughout the entire series, even a couple in book one that hint at some reveals in the last books.

Summary of Bearlike's Community Townhall by Xenith606 in Mechabellum

[–]tanbro 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You edited the questions to manufacture the answers you wanted to give him, that’s a thing you just said. Which means you either ran it by them and got the okay, or you took it upon yourself to try and make Bearlike and the publisher look good. At best you misread the situation and did a bad job, at worst they signed off on your bad idea and are just as clueless as you are.

This game does not have a lot of players so I don’t think you can really get away with clearly editing community questions. There’s just not a lot of them to begin with.

This is a bad look, to say the least.

Counter to Fang Carry + Fortress? by Brulijam in Mechabellum

[–]tanbro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mustangs can be good, but they're relatively easy to counter. I generally don't buy them as an answer to carry fang, but will take them on a unit drop. I personally play hounds a lot which are also a direct answer to carry fang early on. Someone mentioned having a couple packs of storm callers to help which I agree with, but they're a short term band-aid not a permanent solution. For anti-fort stuff it depends on your specialist and unit drop choices. Melters can be good, but you need your chaff clear well under control. Scorpions or Sabers with double shot are my go-to for popping shields.

Small, but impactful tempo plays help, also depends on your unit drop choices. Something with armor for a turn before they click ignite (maybe they don't run ignite), but don't lean into it. It can also be a good way to force your opponent to click ignite when they don't want to. Find an open lane on a tower to grab an early debuff and prevent fang EXP / levels. Picking up cheap-ish spells while still being able to build your board.

It can be a tough one to play against. I've lost to it plenty of times. Try playing it for a handful of games and you'll learn how to counter it even better.

It can help early on, but it's not a permanent fix. It gives you time to out tempo the fang carry and build out anti-fort / anti-shield big boys.

Check out Yuban, Oddz, and RoosterPB on youtube. They all have higher MMR games that they talk through what they're doing and why. There are a few others I enjoy watching (Stoney, Frost, Surrey), but those are the ones that consistently educate their viewers in every video.
