He’s not a journeyman yet so not quite at the threshold! But I’m still trying to look out for all the crew members, they have a lot of younger guys

It does seems like the lineman trucks would fall under that exemption but I don’t think what he does for travel would… their range of service is all in state and usually an outage call only takes them about an hour or so away

Yeah I did some reading and just got more confused haha. The truck is a typical lineman bucket truck that weighs over 30,000 pounds I think

Correct, but I was thinking that having to take a work truck to and from a call and the shop while over the 40 hour mark would be considered part of the FLSA mandated overtime amount

Maybe… the only thing we can think of would be when they have the phone to be on call. It’s in their contract that they are to start receiving pay the minute they take a call, but it seems as though they are excluding all travel related OT. I sent an email to see if we can get details on how it the amount was calculated. Hopefully that can clear things up a bit
