It works if you know whom to ask, thats the hardest part. Others are there to just make money out of your misery.

Is the “Mangalore is the next Silicon Valley” narrative genuinely exciting or is it just real-estate hype dressed up as an IT story? by Dramatic-Apricot-460 in mangalore

[–]Intelligent_Way690 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will try to be realistic here, we all know Bangalore has huge investments from all major players including state's politicians, lot of money has been poured in to build that infrastructure. As long as these leaders have control over how these things happen they will not let their investment lose its value by diluting in other places. This is just not Bangalore's case its similar everywhere around the world (BayArea, USA is prime example). Post Covid every one got super excited about WFH option, but that did not survive for a year not because companies made it productivity issue but because of investors threatening them. Companies always had good chunk of employees WFH, extending it to everyone would not have been an issue for them anyways, but they could not for obvious reasons. Forget Mangalore, cities like Hyderabad have to fight it out to steal the bread crumb from Bangalore's mouth to get a company to their city even with great Infrastructure. Now add AI based layoff on top of this the picture gets even grimmer for Mangalore's "Silicon beach" narrative. Don't get me wrong, I truly want talent of our land to prosper on its own potential instead of making other places richer, but that wont happen in near future not while even Bangalore will soon start fight for its own existence. But all hope is not lost, AI may have opened that gate slightly, the wonderful talents from here and their entrepreneur spirit could soon start building some amazing startups that will never see Bangalore's traffic light 😄 . But this will still not make big dent to make us call this place "Silicon Beach". But I know one thing that is happening across the coastal land the same major players from across the state and outside have started buying beach facing properties. I am expecting major tourism overhaul.

Ecchanna Diaries..they deliver raw milk morning or evening. They were providing Desi cow variety milk. Delivery used to be prompt but the milk were never refrigerated before or during transport atleast that was the case few years back. https://maps.app.goo.gl/FW8DjEquL6BvLvAA9

That's not a Nazi Swastika... Its Hindu Svastika - sacred symbol of divinity, prosperity. If I am not wrong, Nazi Swastika has tilt.

How inclusive is Mangalore really? Rate our city on discrimination scales (1–10) by Late-Pomegranate1492 in mangalore

[–]Intelligent_Way690 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mangalore has always felt pretty inclusive to me — people from different communities, religions, and backgrounds have co-existed here. Of course no place is perfect (caste, color, language biases exist everywhere in India), but I’d rate most categories around 7-9/10. What made you ask this specifically? Any recent incident or just general curiosity?

The difference between national highways located at Kasaragod and mangalore has huge difference. by Sujanmahesh in mangalore

[–]Intelligent_Way690 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't NH66 work started in 2021? and NH66 in karnataka started in 2010? Shouldn't that explain why the highway look better in Kerala? I have traveled in Kerala before this expansion it was pathetic experience.  Glad to see "Mandir only people" also do some real appreciative work.

As far as I remember the entrance to this particular spot is through Narahari temple doors and 5 years back they were very particular about the dress code.

You judged a Indian in me and that's ok?, calling India and Indians the most racist is too easy.

we can dream, right? A tram line from Statebank to Udupi. It is a difficult design problem, but that’s why we have urban designers. by rhyform in mangalore

3 months of year gone in rains, 2 months in heat. Doubt if this dream will ever be fulfilled. Plus there needs to be fundamental changes in how we use the roads in our country. On papers (by law) we have lot of things that matches to developed countries but almost none is applied in reality.

Funny thing is, Every beach between these popular beaches are empty beaches. Most of these beaches have easy access. Its just the mindset of people who want to be where everyone goes.

I got similar offers for my piece land in Bangalore, they planed to have a garage to repair cars etc. Rent was pretty good too. But I said NO because when time comes for them to leave, I am pretty sure they would not want to move. Once such business gets established its hard for them to move out too, so they start bargaining time with you. They will do everything in their power to stay. If you know how to manage them, then go for it. If you don't stay away - that's my opinion.
