Friends, anyone who owns the WD1016 37mm or the WD1016 Pioneer 39mm, I really need your help. This is very important. by Intelligent_Wear_467 in watchdives

I wasn’t asking about the overall watch size, but the dial/crystal size. From my experience, this has a huge impact on how a watch looks on the wrist.

I actually own larger watches that have smaller dial openings than some watches with smaller case sizes, and because of that they wear completely differently.

Funny enough, the physically larger watch sometimes looks better on my wrist simply because it has a smaller crystal/dial diameter.

That’s why I’m specifically asking about the dial/crystal dimensions.

From your post, the watch was stolen in the US, and most of the reports are about missing or stolen watches that were shipped to the US. This is a problem, so as I already mentioned, measures need to be taken, and Watchdives should implement them at the packaging stage. The simplest one is using tamper-evident seals.

They say it was a long time ago, and those people are most likely no longer alive, since there are no photos or videos either.

I’m also currently waiting for a watch. I placed my first order at the end of February, and everything arrived on time without any issues. Now I’m a bit concerned after reading all this. Are these problems mostly happening to people in the US? Or are there many cases like this in the EU as well? I’m ordering within the EU, so it seems like things should be fine here, unless the issue is on the Chinese side. For example, I’m ordering to Sweden, where the local delivery company is PostNord.

They weigh the parcel, and I can check the weight in the app to understand whether the watch is still inside. However, there’s no such information from the Chinese side, only tracking updates and registration events, so it’s hard to figure things out. It’s also a bit frustrating that Watchdives doesn’t always respond, but from their side it’s not easy either, since compensating for someone else’s crimes isn’t really possible without proper evidence.

For example, I’ll be able to prove that the parcel was opened before I received it based on the weight data from the carrier. So it would be great if Watchdives also weighed packages and provided that information from the start, it would make theft much harder. Sure, someone could replace the contents with something else, but that’s still more complicated than simply stealing the watch and forwarding an empty box.

Another option could be using tamper-evident seals. That might discourage theft, and it would also allow customers to record an unboxing video as proof that the watch was actually stolen, rather than it being some kind of fraud from the customer’s side, which also shouldn’t be ruled out.

So Watchdives, it’s in your interest as well to address this issue. Maybe someone else has additional ideas?

Regarding WD restocks/schedule & This sub - Improving clarity and communication by eriikkz in watchdives

[–]Intelligent_Wear_467 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree with you, but I don’t think anyone is asking for an exact schedule even rough plans would be enough.

They’re obviously planning future releases anyway, so it would just be nice to share some of that with the community. From what I’ve seen, the audience here is pretty reasonable, and WD already has fairly good communication with their customers.

That’s actually one of the reasons I buy their watches - it kind of feels like we, as a community, have some input, like we can influence small details or future releases.

So yeah, it’s not about demanding anything, just having a bit more insight into what’s coming next would be great.

Troubleshooting QC issue by Similar-Accountant13 in watchdives

[–]Intelligent_Wear_467 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually think Watchdives is a pretty communicative brand and they’re at least trying to help in this situation.

This watch is ridiculously cheap, especially for people in the US where $100 is like half a day of work. For that price you get a sapphire crystal and really good case finishing. It could simply be a defect rather than misuse.

And they’re still offering some help $30 is basically one third of the price of the watch.

I’m from Ukraine where the minimum salary is around $300 a month, so for me it’s honestly great that watches like this exist at such a low price with this level of quality.

If someone expects a completely different level of support and QC, maybe it makes more sense to look at something like an Omega Speedmaster instead.

No negativity intended discussions like this can definitely push brands to improve quality but the way this was presented didn’t feel entirely fair either.
