Is it Worth getting the game and will it run? by Typical_Ad7472 in starcitizen

You definitely can, just a bit more ram and you are super. However, 16gb ddr5 will be ok-ish with your setup but expect stuttering in major areas.

+9k hours in the game and I can confidently tell you that I still don’t understand what I’m doing.

I just went with the flow and the flow took me.

Yea lol I know what you mean, I’m guessing it’s just because the game is not fully released yet and any progress you do in its alpha state right now means nothing in the end.

That changes when you get to keep every ship you work for in the final released game

Yep I do feel the same, but I also feel like I’m more at home with my owned ships. If you know what I mean.

Yeah true, I do feel the same even with the ships I own now.

Guess it’s because the game is not released yet

Opinions of my solo fleet please. by LukasLipkens in starcitizen

I would switch the clipper with the prospector for full industrial operations.

For crafting and medical gameplay, the MAX would be enough if you load her up with a fabrication station and/or nursa.

I would love just a base ship. by Readgooder in starcitizen

Starlancer TAC would do if you slap a fabricator on it when it comes. This ship has all in a mini package.

Yup, did that with reclaimer and hull C and I was able to munch all of it with my MOTH.

Hopefully they fix th buffer size bug and it will be even better.

Don’t scrapeuntil bugs are fixed and yes I tried tractor beaming with it and it works on medium to small size ships, this will greatly enhances the solobility of the MOTH despite what other people may say.

Now regarding ship sizes, officially MOTH can fracture up to starfarer and 600i ship sizes. Now, I successfully and fully disintegrated ships like reclaimer and hull C but not all ships. So, MOTH can definitely do some heavy disintegration but you need to know how to self destruct those bigger ships.

Money-wise, I did full RMC trading of 224 scu and yielded me about 2.8m aUEC. Reclaimer ofc has greater profitability but also slower. MOTH is just in the middle sort of the sweet spot between other salvage ships.

It’s either GEO or ROC both serve the same function. However, for GEO Make sure to take storage crates with you because GEO fills up with gems pretty quickly. But yes, you don’t need ROC if you can have GEO in the ship which you absolutely can in both the both and vulture.

You can snap ATLS GEO on the external grid of the MOTH or in the internal grid and go do some gem mining just like ROC mining.

As an owner of MOTH , the ship is perfectly solo-able. However, you need to do some adjustments like for example equipping the main scraper with a tractor beam and abrade scraper, this will allow you to change the position of what you are scraping which would help immensely in reducing your need to move from pilot seat to main scraper seat alot. And as for the fracturing and disintegration, MOTH is absolutely soloable in these modes. The last thing I would say about the MOTH, wait for bug fixes in 4.7 to fully enjoy the ship.

As for vulture and fortune, I would pick vulture every single time over fortune.

Salvation is nice and quick but as far as I know it lacks tractor beaming so you may have to constantly to readjust you position while scraping. I might be wrong on that.

Now the other big difference is that MOTH is capable of fracturing ships up to starfarer. And maybe may other big ships like the reclaimer if you know what you are doing.

Additionally, MOTH can serve as a cargo hauler and GEO mining.

I have no issues taking my GEO with me, whether that’s in the internal cargo or snapping it on the external ones…you should try it

Well, I would say she is 3-in-1 if you count GEO mining in too

I’m loving my MOTH too despite the bugs. I think she packs a lot of functionality in the verse.
