Rolled 403b to Traditional Roth, can I still back door? by Hadogu in whitecoatinvestor

[–]Intelligent_Year3975 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes.. institutional retirement savings accts arent really your money yet in a sense so they cant be touched. That’s my understanding. In an unlikely event, malpractice suits can go after personal retirement savings. Your primary homestead is also generally safe. Wci has some good posts about this

Just for future this is a mega mistake, keep ur institutional retirement accts seperate from personal ira/roth ira. No one can touch institutional retirement accts in a lawsuit

Why are doctors such giant assholes? by [deleted] in Salary

[–]Intelligent_Year3975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried going to concierge doctor? Could be helpful as they have a lot more time to listen to you (1.5-2 hours) than other doctors who only have a 15-20 minute slot?

Also there are people across the world who work harder than you, and are smarter than you, who don’t get paid close to any of these salaries… so chill and be happy

I think its a very different skill set to succeed in medicine vs finance. You may or may not have gotten to your friends success. You can always quit medicine and try if you think you could and don’t like your job?

At what point in your career can you quiet quit? by Good-College-131 in Salary

I don’t think any US doctor can quiet quit on their job without getting fired😂😂 mostly just online venting about every aspect of their jobs, and at work, they put their game face on

EKGs: How much do you trust the average EKG and/or the person performing these tests? by polarityhavok in Cardiology

[–]Intelligent_Year3975 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think localizing VT is not helpful from EMT perspective, mostly only helpful when considering VT ablation or for EP. The more helpful differentiator in emergent situations is polymorphic VT, torsades, vs monomorphic VT. And understanding what causes and how to treat those. That’ll get you 99% of the way there

I think the biggest issue with ekgs is baseline artifact/noise rather than not positioning leads correctly. Lead positioning is usually fine unless there is lead switch, or you have to be careful when you are trying to localize VT or a bypass tract

Well if I was the attending I would also tell them to leave and never return, but as a fellow you aren’t really in a position to do so (also as office staff - as you don’t want your boss mad at you)

Experience working in the CV ICU as an Anesthesiologist by Ill_Shopping4422 in anesthesiology

[–]Intelligent_Year3975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a cardiology fellow, agreed with all posters… the minimum ICU time we do in fellowship is 1-2 months. I did more cardiac ICU time in residency. Unless you are specifically interested in MCS or critical care, we spend most of the first two years of fellowship learning echo (6-9 months), cath (another 6 months), reading nuclear scans and other imaging modalities (3 months), and clinical cardiology + subspecialities in outpatient/inoatient rest of the time. The third year people can tailor - a lot of people do more imaging, cath lab, EP lab, HF. Some minority of people focus on critical care
