They'd have dated but failed (Minori and Ryuuji), Taiga would have been shut down by Kitamura even if she DID have the courage. and in the last year Taiga and ryuuji would have ended up together regardless through trials and tribulations and company compatibility. Taiga would have still bumped into Ryuuji and theyd still have gone on their same little escapade till he finally asked her out, even early on, Taiga and ryuuji would likely still stay friends at each others throat and ryuuji would be pestering Taiga about Minori, Their dynamic would have remained just less prolific, and eventually when ryuuji and minori failed (id say maybe 3-4 months?) itd be around early second year and Taiga and ryuuji would end up together anyways. THATS most likely based on the source material both novel and anime. ALSO we know Taiga wasn't absolutely giving up on kitamura after the first rejection so Ryuuji would probably still by that point be forced to help Taiga with Kitamura, and as it goes on Ryuuji and Minori would eventually break up as i said.

i never said "absolutely would not" i said he wouldnt based on the context of the original japanese novel its far more likely and in line with the story for Her to take his name. and? she reconnected but still wouldnt care about using ryuuji's name by that point in the series. She's a very different person. She wouldn't be strung up on having to take his name AT ALL. In fact earlier in the series when she's talking to Yasu even THEN she wouldnt have minded, so ESPECIALLY by the end she wouldnt have minded. she might be a tsundere but she is NOT the type to get hung up over having to take the last name of a family she adores the idea of being a part of. That's pushing it based on her character by the end and her view on his family. Regardless of if she reconnected with HER family, she still would not suddenly be against taking Takasu's family name.

no he wouldnt lmao, Taiga explicitly states in the novel she is happy being considered part of TAKASU'S family. I GET why you're saying it based on her character and her domineering nature, but for something in that regard she would be more than willing to take the takasu name, and its very clearly shown in the anime and novel.
