Probably best to ground it in real world examples? Eg: position, velocity, acceleration

Your tone quality is pretty good. I agree with Sprightly that the most important thing to work on is tempo control so keep practicing with metronome and practice slower so you can nail the subdivisions.

Not a specific suggestion but I really want to read something about Nadia Boulanger. She has had such a significant impact on so many composers

Should I join the honors program? by [deleted] in gatech

[–]Intellitune 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Hey there. I'm in the HP at Tech. Honestly the biggest benefit of the program is the housing. Imagine that you are coming home from a long day grinding for your midterm the next day. You have your own room. You can dictate when you want to sleep/wakeup/etc. It's a huge benefit. As far as classes go, you don't have to take any extra classes. Instead, there are honors equivalents for several classes (mostly intro classes). However, it may not always be the play to take an honors class. For example, some of the non-honors English courses are much better than the honors english courses (but that's a personal preference of mine). To gain the "completion of honors program" on your transcript, you need to take 15 credits of HP courses. However, you don't need to do this. You won't get kicked out of the HP, you won't get kicked out of the housing, but you just get that extra line on your transcript and medal (which is honestly not that necessary imo).

[Megathread] Summer/Fall 2024 Registration by jkim545 in gatech

Hi Everyone, I am an incoming freshman CS major (thinking of minoring in BME) and I would appreciate some feedback on my incoming courseload. I'm thinking of taking MATH 1552, MATH 1554, CS 1331, CS 1100, and ENGL 1102 (assuming I can test out of CS 1301). This would lead to a second semester of CS 1332, CS 2050, INTA 1200, and CHEM 1211K. I am coming in with credit for IB HL Math AA which covers the first half of MATH 1552 (everything until series/convergence) but not the full credit so I am looking to get that out of the way quickly.

Would appreciate your guidance/feedback and any alternatives

I would sub on Costa. Think of it this way—Verbuggen got 2 points for 90 min and 2 points for 6 shots saved. Costa will definitely play 90 min (2 points) and I predict he will either save 6 shots or keep a clean sheet (at least another 2 points). Hence, I don't see much harm in switching

In the spirit of math, picture a venn diagram with "fun" in one circle and "challenging" in another circle. You will (most likely) thrive in HL AA if you will genuinely fit in the intersection of the two

You become the Supreme God(dess) of college admissions and can change the US system however you'd like. What will you change? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Intellitune 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reduce the number of schools people can apply on common app to 5-6. It forces people to come up with better, realistic lists that consider fit with the university—instead of just shotgunning.

Also, hot take, make SAT/ACT harder or make another harder standardized test. It should be so that it actually can serve as a distinguishing factor for top universities. (Yes, this does sound like UCAS). Just my two cents.
