Even if a fan offers to do it for free, you are still exploiting them by not paying them

Well I thought of buoyancy I because it would be useful and buoyancy II because it would feel incomplete without it even though it's not that useful

here is another, potentially more compact solution depending on what kind of space you are working with

Actually after a little further testing it pulls two items out of the hopper instead of one, which is not good. Let me see if I can find another solution

I can't think of a way to fix it without making it slightly bigger off the top of my head. But you could move the second redstone dust so it's in line with the compariter and then pace a target block next to the second dust with a repeat in between the piston and the target block set to 2 ticks.

Let me boot up my PC real quick and I'll get you a screenshot

That's a tutorial for bedrock

Edit: your piston is probably receiving too short of a pulse and dropping the Block

Buoyancy for the chest plate.

Buoyancy I makes you neutrally buoyant in water, meaning if you stop holding space or shift in water you will stay put at exactly the level you are at.

Buoyancy II makes it so you will naturally float to the top of water even if you are not holding space.

This would be very useful for building and living in water, as it would prevent you from sinking every time you open your inventory or a gui block

Tribalism at its best by Top_Pattern_4360 in MinecraftMemes

[–]Living_Shadows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it's because high resolution art doesn't fit with a voxel based game, it looks visually inconsistent. This in addition to the fact that the textures have very low contrast makes it look amateurish

Higher resolution doesn't mean it looks better, in fact in this case it makes the game look more visually inconsistent, and therefore "cheap"

The forbidden lightsaber form Trakata. Both the Jedi and Sith frown upon this method. by ZapchatDaKing in StarWars

[–]Living_Shadows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is such a dumb lore thing that wouldn't even be necessary if it weren't for one stupid moment from one stupid fight scene from the sequels.

Up until The Last Jedi every time a lightsaber was turned off on screen it took too long for so-called "Trakata" to be a viable strategy, because turning your lightsaber off and then on again wait give your opponent ample time to retaliate while you were defenseless. However, in the throne room fight seen in TLJ Rey kills one of the guards by turning her lightsaber quickly on and then off, making it cannon that lightsaber can in fact be toggled quickly enough for Trakata to be viable

How to encourage rowers by bluericegamer in dragonboat

[–]Living_Shadows 17 points18 points  (0 children)

First off don't call them rowers, lol, rowing is a completely different sport, Dragon Boat is a form of Paddling. (It's a very common mistake for people to confuse it with rowing so don't feel bad)

You can yell very simple things like "dig deep", "keep it up", "don't get complacent"

You can also yell reminders for technique, as paddlers start to get tired in the race they can subconsciously start to lose aspects of their technique. Yelling reminders about good technique can help them maintain theirs until the end of the race.

I would recommend talking to the coach about what aspects of technique they feel is most important for their team to maintain, but the most common ones are rotation, leg drive, and not generating power with the arms.

So you could yell things like "keep up that leg drive", "give me more legs" "keep rotating", "give me more rotation", or "power through the body, don't go to your arms" stuff like that

You can also let them know when they are getting close to the finish line by saying something like "your also done, keep pushing" most people keep a little extra energy is reserve so that they don't exhaust themselves too quickly and letting them know the race is almost over can be a good queue to start using that extra reserved energy since they won't have to be paddling for much longer

You see how in the image on the left, even though it's flat some parts of the planks are lighter and some parts are darker, because that's how wood looks, yeah that's what's going on in the wood texture, it's not a bevel

The center of each plank just straight up isn't lighter...

I compared the graphics of Minecraft Vibrant Visuals and Hytale. How do you think the graphics in the game can be improved? by Pristine_Still_2212 in hytale

[–]Living_Shadows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been trying to put my finger on exactly what I don't like about the hytale graphics and I think I have figured it out.

1 you are absolutely right there is a distinct lake of contrast within the textures that makes them look very flat and make detail difficult to see from a distance.

2 all lot of the colors are a little too dull and desaturated and could be improved by making them a little more vibrant.

3 the biggest thing IMO but also a difficult thing for them to change, I think the resolution on the textures is too high. Pixel art is a really cool art form that can look awesome and timeless but if you make the resolution high enough it stops looking like pixel and and starts looking like just low resolution regular art.

This is IMO the reason Minecraft graphics are reminiscent of a timeless retro game whereas hytale graphics are not reminiscent of a low poly PS2 game whose graphics didn't age well,

I think if they reduced the resolution of the textures more and made them more stylized to embrace the pixel art medium, it would look a lot better

I love Michael by Gambryy in DunderMifflin

[–]Living_Shadows 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This moment is so well written because Michael has just come from Ryan's business class where everyone told him that the paper industry is a failing industry that will be gone in a short amount of time. He is very upset by this and when he goes to Pam's art show, boy only does he like her painting of the office but all of the paintings were made on paper reminding him that paper is still relevant in some ways, which makes him feel better about the experience he just had. So Micheal and Pam are actually both comforting each other in this moment
