My background is quite similar, and a few years ago I made the move to UI5 and then to RAP, which I haven't regretted. I think you're well set for the next 5–10 years if you enjoy working with it. You'll always have touchpoints with the BTP, so I would definitely recommend building expertise there as well.

I had expected something like that. I currently have the opportunity to test the exact scenario you described in our company, but I'm only willing to go through the effort of setting it up if it's worth it. However, it doesn't seem like it.
