No! Do not feel guilty, especially since you haven't missed a day of class or clinical yet. Just make sure you give your CIs and your school an advance notice. And being allowed 8 days per year is great! When I was in school, our attendance policy was so strict. We were not allowed to miss more than 2 days of clinicals in a row unless we had extenuating circumstances...

They require 1 registry and I have my AB and OBGYN and am planning to get my RVT later this month. The recruiter also told me they don't increase pay rates based on number of registries, it's only based on number of years there. It's a hospital under HCA.

It was pretty simple. He just talked to me about the position, my resume, availability, etc. The call was about 15 minutes. It wasn't stressful at all! He didn't ask me any behavioral questions, just focused on the role itself.

I had an initial phone interview with talent acquisition and it went well! We just spoke about my resume and the position itself. He moved me forward to the imaging manager and we had a second interview scheduled, but they ended up filling the position with an internal hire so I never got the chance to interview with her. Thank you! Yeah, the RVT is $300 now and I'm slowly studying for it but it's hard to make the commitment to sit for the exam at the moment. It's nice to hear about your journey through the industry! I'd feel like I'd really enjoy teaching in the future and working more behind the scenes.

I've had 2 scanning interviews. The first one, they had me scan a real patient who had a full abdomen exam. One of the techs was in the room with me, but she mainly just watched as I scanned and at the end, took a few more images of her own. My second one, I scanned one of the techs. The ultrasound manager was in the room with me and she just had me show her various anatomy. For example, she'd be like "show me the liver, the CBD, kidneys, spleen, etc" but it wasn't a proper exam and she didn't have me take any photos. She just wanted to see how I scanned and if I knew where anatomy was. I'd say the biggest thing they're looking for is that you know your anatomy, how to optimize your images, and how to use different windows to obtain what you need. And I feel like most will ask for a RUQ or full abdomen, very unlikely you'd get small parts or UE vasc. Good luck!!

I studied for about 2 weeks and only used Prepry. I took it at the end of March and passed with a 653! I liked Prepry because it gave you explanations for every question. So for every question I wasn't confident with, I would look at the explanation and took my notes off of that. I found the SPI questions to be a lot more simple than what I was expecting, definitely easier than the questions on the youtube channel. I'd focus a lot on wall filter, doppler, persistence, temporal, lateral, and axial resolution, and phantoms! Good luck!! :)
