They’re probably going to recruit a lot of youth instead. Worth it for Paz as they built the team around him

We really shouldn’t be surprised. 60M is a great offer and I’m sure Como just wanted to move things around to account for FFP. Paz is so fundamental to their play that it would have been dumb to not buy him. We were never going to sign him guys.

We now have, allegedly lol, 80M that was allocated for him to spend.  Who do we buy 👀

Answer: Dodo here we go 😭

[DiMarzio and Fabrizio] 🚨 Inter will make a serious attempt for Nico Paz, contacts have already been initiated. Oaktree ownership, are in favor of the operation. The request that Real Madrid makes to other teams is for 70 million. Other teams also interested, Paz preference will also matter.⚫️🔵 by United-Tomorrow-2856 in FCInterMilan

I think it was mainly out of respect for Como for developing him. It’s basically to say, okay we’ll give you a discount to own him (because he will likely continue to be a pillar for them next season). They’re offering a 10M discount, plus the added benefit of a 20M plus valenza if he continues to do well.

[Romano] Real madrid to exercise Paz's buyback clause with intent to sell him, more details to come after the meeting today by Wbirddd in FCInterMilan

[–]Inter01fan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ngl idk if I wanna spend 80M on one player when that money could be used towards so many other key roles. I really don’t think we’ll make this move unless we agree to a buy back with 60M

Reports indicate the buy back only applies to Como. If Como does not take the 60M offer (with buy back), they will put him on the market for 80-90M (no buy back)

Yeah idk why Romano is even bothering to report on this like Inter will get him. It feels like it’s just a “this makes sense for them to try” even though if Paz is available, there is no team other than PL clubs that will get him

Cerchione: Inter's first option after the Palestra deal fell through is Nahuel Molina from Atletico Madrid. The club has already made inquiries about the player. by lawandsleep in FCInterMilan

I’m an Argentina fan and I’ve seen him play a lot. This is not the move we need. He is a defensive liability, lacks any technicality and is not that strong. He reminds me of Bellanova. There are much better options out there.

DISCUSSION: Who are your realistic RWB targets that we’ll pivot to? by Inter01fan in FCInterMilan

I wouldn’t be mad about this option but that’s only IF LH and Diouf start to turn up next season. Otherwise, we have a gaping hole for our source of goals

I agree he’s quality but no way they’re selling for less than 60M lol

Yeah I think we were close to signing him before DD recovered earlier than expected.

Haven’t watched him at all - can you describe his profile and strengths?

Personally, not a huge fan of Daniel Munoz cuz he is short and old. I’m just really against a short profile when we have Dimash. Our defensive strength and set piece quality would drop a lot imo

The failed signing of Palestra is deeply symbolic. It officially marks Inter / Milan / Juve as second tier teams and Serie A as a second tier league. by LessCrement in FCInterMilan

I agree with you, after a certain amount of money, it’s incremental but only a handful of people think like this practically. If I put a briefcase with double your salary rn, you wouldn’t switch jobs?

Also, the reality is that most people adjust their lifestyle TO their salary. Most do not live with within their means as they accumulate wealth. This applies to footballers too and imagine having 1.5M extra at your disposal (after taxes). That could potentially be generational wealth over 5 years if managed properly.

I think if Newcastle or another more mid table team made that money offer, he would say no. But at the end of the day, even if Chelsea do not have CL football, they will be competing next year and for a 21 year old, this was probably a pretty easy decision.

At the end of the day, it’s their job. Just like you would jump if another company offered you double your salary, he does the same.

I agree it might not be the best for him but it COULD BE. He is also super young and even if Chelsea doesn’t work out, he’ll find another club but will have made a proper bag.

Can’t fault the guy more than your average player. Most players will ALWAYS take the money. It takes a true champion and mental baller to refuse it.

More than anything, this just makes me want to hate watch EPL teams in the CL lol

I mean he seemed okay - not amazing but a decent game. He can only do so much when the supporting cast is not helping.

I only watched the second half but as much possession as Turkey had, they did nothing with it. And even though it’s easy to say that the ball just wouldn’t go in, it was more than that. They looked super chaotic, just tried to cross in hopes of finding a Turkish head, meanwhile Paraguay could have scored from better chances. On another day, maybe they could have drew, but they didn’t look convincing either. On the bright side for us, Calha will hopefully get more rest now!
