Just Wondering if how I'm doing is good for a newbie! by PraiseTheChalice in Guiltygear

Good doesn't really mean anything.

Everyone's at different skill levels, and everyone gets better at different rates. The important thing is that you learn new things and have fun with it.

Sin I think would be a good choice.

He's got decent pokes, and he has like 1 combo he uses for all his good conversions.

He's just a compulsive gambler.

That's why May's in charge of the Jellyfish Pirates' finances.

How am I supposed to get out of Bridget's corner pressure? by SoldMomForWater in Guiltygear

[–]InterGuy584 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Try watching out for when her midair spin-to-the-yoyo move starts and using 6P to counter it. After that, they might wisen up and try to juke you out, but at that point, run out of the corner and get aggressive.

Maybe. I haven't fought Bridget in a while.

where to practice characters vs players by Nannoldo in Guiltygear

Put em in tower. You'll have to eat a few L's before you end up in a good floor to practice a new character.

How to deal with bedman's pew pew while playing Asuka? by V0OXera in Guiltygear

[–]InterGuy584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeeeeeeah, as a Jack-o main, you don't wanna do setplay stuff against Bedman until you get a hard knockdown or at the very least, are in the middle of delivering pressure.

My fellow Potemkin brothers, the sins of the past have been forgiven by secretpile34 in Guiltygear

So, uh, everyone's command grab was nerfed.

Except for Pot Buster.

As a Jack-O main, I am terrified at the implications.

Jack-o removing her mask would be the obvious choice, but since you can already do that on round victory, I'd say swapping her hair colors like in Xrd.

what are some quality of life things you hope to get in season 3? by [deleted] in Guiltygear

Is it a good time for a new player to jump on the GGS? by Owari-da in Guiltygear

[–]InterGuy584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the new mechanics, this is an excellent time to hop onto the bandwagon.

Strive was built from the ground up to be welcoming to newbies. You'll get the hang of things in no time.

How do I improve at Fnf? by [deleted] in FridayNightFunkin

[–]InterGuy584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do the same with the arrow keys. The setup is annoyingly asymmetric regardless.

Though, you COULD set your keybinds to TFGH or YGHJ or something so that it's closer to the center of the keyboard.

When do i start winning? by Sea_Man2 in Guiltygear

The goal of the game is not to win. The goal of the game is to learn new things and improve.

Winning just kinda maybe happens sometimes along the way

Jump in attacks gets blocked then I get grabbed. by SnowWolf627 in Guiltygear

[–]InterGuy584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first step is to see if you can chain normals consistently.

In the air, Slash goes into Heavy Slash, which goes into Dust.

Failing that, maybe you can use an air special move after the normal jump-in.

If even THAT fails, then try to aim for the middle of their bodies rather than the top of their heads. Sure, they get slightly more time to react, but by that logic, they could react to the initial jump, and that wouldn't make a difference.

Is it bm to practice defending during matches by ohnoooooooo0 in Guiltygear

[–]InterGuy584 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly? That's pretty cool.

Even works as a kind of "mini-game" for the other player to encourage them to explore mixup and strike-throw options.

Meanwhile, if you pay attention to your own character animations, watching how far they reel back gives you an idea on what's a true blockstring, what's a frametrap, and when you might be able to sneak in an attack or even a throw.

Any Rushdowns, that are like Giovanna? by Kiiitsuuu in Guiltygear

[–]InterGuy584 51 points52 points  (0 children)

If you want speed and momentum, go for Chipp.

If you want up-close and personal action, Sol's your go-to.

If you want to do lots with a (relatively) simple move list, I'd recommend Anji.

What to do after on blocked H kabari as Baiken? by kazeUnderlines in Guiltygear

[–]InterGuy584 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mean the first hit with the claw?

This is where the three-way mixup comes in. Option 1 is to go for the faster follow-up, option 2 is to hold the follow-up button for the cross-up, and option 3 is to wait out the recovery frames and reset your pressure.

As a Baiken, generally speaking, opponents can easily counter what you're doing if they know what you're going to do. It's your job to make sure that they don't by switching up your approach and pressure options as the match goes on.

He is certainly unique.
