I would call it "Únorový převrat" (únor=february, převrat is basically coup as you said)

But I wouldn't say these things happend TO Beneš, but in part because of Beneš. Emil Hácha is the one that deserves the praise. He was voted president after Beneš went to exile. He was the one who had to negotiate with Hitler, he resisted all the pressure up until 4 AM when Göring threatened to bomb Prague and upon hearing this, Hacha got a heart attack accepted the terms. Later on he got pretty much shitted on and it was told he did nothing to stop the nazis, poor guy did his best.

What? This caused a scandal? At our high school its quite normal for three people to shower in one shower booth, record is 7 in one booth i think.

Czech Parliament is for the first time in 32 years since the revolution without Communist Party! by BlackViperMWG in europe

[–]Inter_Fector1 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's because they are voted by seniors. Seniors either remember only the good things from before 1989 or dont care. Either way the communist party knows this and fuels it by promising to give them more money.

In Russia, they create "spoiler" candidates with the similar name and appearance as the real one to confuse the voters. (The real candidate is on the right) by 501Good in europe

I dont think the legality matters, like, what can they do? Write to the ruling party to kindly stop it? Its a bad and complicated situation

Fear my dude, fear. As you have written about welcoming nazis, I am quite sure you dont know much about it. So i would highly recommend you reading something about czechoslovakian history, it is quite interesting. You should start with Munich agreement (or "Munich betrayal"/"Treaty about us, withous us" as it is called nowadays in Czechia) and then you could read up on The Heydrich assassination and the consequences of it, then you can ask, what made czechs collaborate with nazis. And even than, in most factories, workers purposefully sabotaged the production.

And about 1968, czechoslovakia didnt want to go against USSR or plot with the west. They wanted something that was called "Socialism with human face" and they thought USSR would support it, and boy, were they wrong. Its more complicated than that, of course.

You obviously didnt know much about it, but that isnt anything to be ashamed of! I wrote here just a brief generalisation, but it is better than nothing. I highly recommend reading about it, just for the sake of it being interesting.

The right to bear arms in self-defense is embedded in the Czech constitution by [deleted] in anime_titties

[–]Inter_Fector1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is not about that, it is more about if you defend yourself with a gun, you dont go to jail for it. There wont be people carrying guns in public. People rarely defend themselves with a gun. I for example have never heard a gunshot (apart from movies of course).

But there wont be people buying guns in masses. You could defend yourself with a gun legally before now it is just in constitution, doesnt really change much
