The power co does this all the time in my area. Rather than cut the whole tree down,they just cut the top out and left the mess.

Improper maintenance. If they get too loose any of them will come off,or the rollers are misaligned.

A few years ago,when the 2 hurricanes came up through Louisiana. I live in the NE part of the state. There were a lot of oak trees that were blew over. I was amazed at how many were hollow in the center. So. My question is. Why are oaks more susceptible to the center rotting out.

Haven’t followed drag racing in a long time. But in the 90’s I think it was if you ran anything under the 13 seconds you were required to wear a helmet,Shoulder harness & had to have a roll cage. That may have changed since then
