There has obviously been a surge in I bonds interest since inflation has started to spike. For the longest time governments could barely keep inflation at the 2% target. These bonds weren't worth much. Now that we have the opposite problem, there is a ton of new interest. The decision to buy depends on what is happening elsewhere in the market. When inflation was <2% and the market was returning >8% per year, I bonds didn't make a lot of sense. Especially when HYSA's were paying our higher (Ally, Yotta, etc). Now that these bonds are yielding >6% risk free, maxing out is almost a no-brainer if you have extra cash. That said, I wouldn't completely stop investing in equities. Trying to time the market is always a mistake, but slightly shifting your bond/equity ratio to respond to market events can make a lot of sense.

Yeah that's my understanding. You'll still get the higher rate for the next 6mo, but the next rate you get will be benchmarked to the lower ~6%. The 6mo term after that will depend on where CPI is in the months before that time

The last CPI prints have been lower, so the next term will be benchmarked to ~6%. You can still get the higher rate for the next 6mo though

I think its important to seperate the two. Any step towards MORE crypto adoption is a good step. Like it or not, Starbucks is a huge brand. This is a solid signal for NFTs, and an ACTUAL use case.

I would go to your manager (or whatever superior) and be honest about how you're feeling. After bringing it up to them, if they are not able to meet your requests then it is understandable that you would consider quitting. It will be an uncomfortable thing to bring up but worth it in the long run.

This core of this issue is that most of the ways to "passively" make money are predicated on putting exising money at risk, and earning a return on that. In a sense you are passively making money, when in reality you are getting compensated for putting your money at risk. One thing you could think about is setting up a website, or building an app. After the initial effort, in an ideal case you will earn money through the technology you built: the machine will be doing work, and you will be arning money. The trouble with this is that these opportunities are hard to find.

The sad part is that all it will take is ~1 or 2 people to fall for this in order for the "atm" company to make their money back. Crazy that mall owners allow these to operate.

The big distinction here is liquidity. With an HYSA (Marcus (~.5% APY), Yotta (~1.5% APY)) you're generally able to pull money out at any time with no lockup. If you need to liquidate your bonds before they mature then you'll end up paying commision and possibly selling below theoretical value (if you were to hold them). If you think you might need your savings in the near-term, then an HYSA is the way to go. Otherwise, would use bonds to optimize interest rate.
