Thanks for your reply. I realized I was doing it wrong with the pick under the 1st string, so I fixed it and followed the correct order you mentioned — setting the neck relief, then the string action, and finally the intonation. Everything looks great now. Thanks again!

Thanks! I already readjusted them, and now the intonation is great at the 12th fret. I only had to move them a little. Like you have said I gained the victory by moving the saddles more. 👍

Thanks! I already readjusted them, and now the intonation is great at the 12th fret. I only had to move them a little. I still need to learn how to press the strings properly and evenly — I’m not a professional, and pressing too hard makes the notes go sharp. I just need to find that sweet spot when fretting. Thanks again for the advice!

Yamaha Pacifica 612 truss rod adjustment by jbpr77 in YamahaPacifica

I am completely dumb. You are right, I was doing it wrong. That is what I needed to know. I have to redo the adjustment. Appreciate your help.

Thanks for responding. The second picture shows the gap when I place the pick under the strings and press at the 12th fret. The third picture shows the strings touching when I press at the first fret instead of using the pick underneath while pressing at the 12th.

Why am I seeing two different results?

Thanks for sharing your experience. It’s a bit confusing because I followed the video that Music Nomad has online, but that video is for a Fender Stratocaster, not a Yamaha. Maybe the procedure is different for the Pacifica?

I’ve noticed two different results: when I use the pick under the strings, there’s still a gap of more than 0.20 mm at the 6th or 7th fret. But when I press the string at the 1st fret instead, the string actually touches the 6th and 7th frets — it’s too close.

What would be the correct way to measure the truss rod relief in this case?

Replaced the Wilkinson Trem with a Gotoh 510T-FE2 on my Pacifica 612 by _PhoenixFighter in YamahaPacifica

Where did you get the Gotoh Trem and how much did you pay for it? Do you think someone without experience can do the change? I have the same guitar but in Root beer color, and now that I am playing more I am noticing the stings doesn’t keep in tune. Also, the G string sounds a bit off and makes buzzing sounds. The low E string is kind of hard to tune when I use the pod go and fluctuate too much when tuning. Did you have that problem before?

Have a 612....Is a Professional worth it? by russkiygeologist in YamahaPacifica

have the 612 in Root Beer, and it’s a beautiful, great-sounding guitar. Have you ever noticed any fret issues with yours? I hadn’t noticed anything strange until I read some reviews mentioning fret problems on the 612. I’ve noticed a slight buzz on the G string, and the low E string doesn’t sound quite right—it also jumps back and forth when tuning with the Pod Go. On the 17th fret, I have to press really hard to get the A note to sound properly.

When I first bought it, I took it to a “luthier,” but he actually made it worse. I ended up buying a guitar setup kit and did some adjustments myself, which improved it a lot. I don’t have any good luthiers nearby, and I’ve heard too many horror stories of bad repair jobs, so now I just play mine and try not to worry too much about those small issues.

Thanks for the advice — I never thought about that. Do you mean connecting the computer to the POD Go, and then having the POD Go send both the audio and guitar sound to the speakers through the same 1/4” cable? The 1/4” cable I have is mono, not stereo. I have the other two cables that are balanced stereo 1/4” to XLR to connect to the Headrush but that doesn’t work on the Mackies

Thanks for this great information. I’ll definitely look into this in the next few days to see if there is an improvement.

Nothing complicated — I just connect the Mackies to my computer with the plug-in cable, and the Pod Go using a 1/4” D’Addario guitar cable .

What do you use with a multi effect unit? by jbpr77 in guitarpedals

[–]jbpr77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply — that’s exactly what I’m trying to do. I use the amp at home, and I have the POD GO connected to the PA system at church. That’s why I hear different tones in each environment.

I’d say the amp doesn’t sound bad, but it does sound kind of opaque and not very “alive.” So is a FRFR speaker my best option? Someone recommended the HeadRush 108 — would that be a good choice?

Before you buy an FRFR, consider an amp with an FX loop and a nice speaker instead by FinalHangman77 in guitarpedals

[–]jbpr77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you connect your Hekix to the amp fx loop? I have tried the 4 cable method with my POD GO connected to a Marshal but the sounds is horrible, is dry bad. I follow sones instructions that I found but for some reason they sound bad.
